LDF. Glad you got back on the bike. If you remember, I bumped into you at the gym on Mercer and recognized you from the Mobius thread (can't miss the hair).. We chatted about your injury and your recovery and I remember you telling me you were worried about making this next trip. Glad it all worked out.

You made it out of here just in time. There was snow on The Blues and The La Sals, and lots of water coming down yesterday after you left. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

    Ride safe my friends!

This is Garden Creek Road near Challis Idaho and IS open to ATVs and M/Cs. It splits at least 4 ways: 1) T1 (069) via Buster Lake and singletrack (according to their website), 2) Lombard ATV trail (4369) to Challis, 3) "direct" (052) to Bayhorse ghost town (note signpost in photo) and 4) "indirect" to Bayhorse. We did not take the T1 route because singletrack on a DRZ is not in my playbook. :nah None of these routes are "easy".

We rode northbound and took the 4th "indirect" route, i.e. ATV trails from Bayhorse (worth a visit!) to your photo spot. The ATV trails were steep and rocky with switchbacks and a steep pitch to a 9400 ft summit. Not big bike friendly! The views were fantastic. BTW, I put 15,000 miles on this DRZ dualsporting all over the Western US and this trail (378/245) on the south side of the summit was the ONLY time I ever needed the throttle wide open on a climb! :eek1

For those wanting a challenge, but not singletrack, our route from Bayhorse (S to N) was FR390, 378, 245, (262?), 052 and Garden Crk.

I hope this post isn't overkill, but we met other T1 riders who turned back here because of the sign. You will see another road closed sign at the start of the rough two-track (052).

    WOW!

I lost my link to this "partay" several months ago right after Francine crashed on # ... 9? Don't know why I lost it and life has been too busy to get back on track with my internet stalking... er... following of Dr. Rock & LDF. Somebody give me the "quick and dirty" version!

Basically after 2 and a half months of rehab I returned to work in early July.

I did little riding locally here in NYC other then taking the bike around the block to restore my confidence on two wheels. I had a bigger goal in mind which was our planned return trip to Las Vegas Sept 13th. I wanted to get back on the horse without letting too much time passing by

Im happy to say we had a great ride with photos and details to follow as we (David) gets through the processing.

    Stay tuned......

Yes! Gads it's good to hear from you. Glad to hear all is going better and better and that Mobius is back. :clap You and David write one of the three best ride reports. (I know, it should be the best but it's hard to choose at the top of the heap ;-)

Just for the heck of it, your competition is metaljockey (long absent for some reason), and the Wans, LittleWan and BigWan. :deal

Wow, I just caught up on this RR. Nothing special about that I suppose, it's just that I started reading it three and a half years ago. Every time I got stuck into it, life got in the way.

Glad to hear you guys are still making more möbius tracks, you have been somewhat of an inspiration to my wife and I to get out there someday. Keep it up!
