I hate to pile on, but I have to agree on the DL1000. I used to be a test ride junkie an Vintage Days and tried out many bikes from the early 90s till the mid 2000s. Boring may be too strong a word, but an overall takeaway I've had from all these rides is the fact that some bikes are simply more fun to ride than others. It's hard to quantify exactly why. I will also add the Gold Wing and the Honda ST1100. Perfectly fine bikes all, just not nearly as fun to ride as say a Speed Triple, a ZX 1200 or 1400, a Road King, or a Rocket III.

I agree with the above Goldwing comments. The bike I rode (a friend's) was just too much of a car. So, for me, since the definition of excitement is "motorcycle"...
I have "Panigale" thoughts sometimes when riding my Vee in the twisties, but then she scares the crap out of me, and I think, "she'll do"
For me it was the Harley I rented in Vegas once. No idea what is was, but it was decidedly uninspiring.
slow, uncomfortable, bad brakes, bad handling, bad sound.
I bought a V-Star 650 Classic for commuter duty which it excelled at, definitely not a piece of crap if ridden as intended, but it is very uninspiring, kinda in a Honda Civic sort of way.
Have had it going on 12 years now but haven't licensed or ridden it in 5 years.
I agree with those who say the question needs rephrasing. A ride on the most "boring" motorcycle in the world would still rank above most other activities I could choose to do.
That said, the bmw F800 ST was a major disappointment for me. Highly functional, a great commuter, so efficient at getting from point A to point B. But riding it, I always felt like I just couldn't buy a thrill. And for all the visceral stimulation I got from the engine, I might as well have stayed in my kitchen running the blender.
Most of the time yes, but low speed maneuvering that barge can be an adrenalin rush.
I'd say the most boring bike I've ridden was a new F800ST. It had basic transportation written all over it. The chassis was soft, spongy, and slow to react. The motor was lifeless, sounded like an economy car, and when you spun it out it would make power but in such a slow, linear fashion with no real hit anywhere in the power band.
It made me feel as if the engineers of the 1992 Camry LE I owned got together to make a motorcycle.
+1 on the Henkley Bonnevilles. Bought a DL1000 for a large road bike. For that purpose, it was a great bike. Taken onto gravel, it was scarier than riding a Heritage in gravel.
The most uninspiring bike I ever owned was a Honda VLX600 cruiser. No feed back, no exhaust note, no fun, due to vibrations from every part, especially over 50mph. I gave it away....
Ok, its 3 for the new Bonnevilles now.
.......My DL650 V-Strom is so boring, it's beautiful.
I put a Scorpion exhaust can on it because I thought, "if it makes some noise, maybe it will be more fun." Big mistake. Now it's a LOUD, boring bike.
After fitting an Elka, triple adjustable shock, Ricor fork "intimators?", .90 Sonic springs in the forks, Pat Walsh crash guards/radiator guard/highway foot peg combo, Sargent seat, Windstrom Manta shield, Madstad bracket, Givi racks, Scott Oiler eSystem, SV Racing frame sliders and spool sliders, new chain and sprockets with "highway gearing", Eastern Beaver headlight mod and headlight switch to shut off one headlight to give me 55 watts more for heated gear, LED tail light, tool tube, Deka AGM battery, PR3 Trail tires, 90 degree valve stems, Pat Walsh air horn, and lots of other little bits, she has become a super comfy, super handling, long distance, 220 miles between fill-ups, boring motorcycle.
She's the opposite of my Ducati Monster and my Honda RC51, and if I had to keep only one motorcycle---it would be the "Wee-Strom" and I would never regret it.

Interesting on the exhaust. I find the audible experience is pretty relevant to riding enjoyability, especially in a V-twin. I had a VTR1000 SuperHawk a good while back I thought I was going to have to sell. After a nice set of TBR cans, it's still the best sounding bike I've ever heard. They turned it into an all-time favorite. Good thing we're all different, I reckon.
Harley 883 .
My brother passed away in 2009 and our parents gave me both of his bikes ('07 Boulevard S50, '08 Versys) in mid-2010 after they had sat awhile. I had ridden both of them many times and fully expected to keep one of them. Well, I've still got both and the one that is going back up for sale this spring is not the one that I would have ever guessed as I've never been the cruiser type.....
The Versys is the most boring bike I've ever ridden. Its a two-wheeled Camary that wheelies easily. It corners and accelerates well and is comfortable but just doesn't do it for me. Not really sure what it is.
Did you ever go off road ? If not you just bought the wrong bike....
this.. M109 .. better than most cruisers.. but cruisers were not for me
Well if you don't like a bike that wheelies,corners and accelerates well you seem hard to please . maybe you will love a big , heavy and slow Harley Davison because you sound like the cruiser type even tho you say you're not.
Ducati 629 (I think that's the correct size. I know it was a 6xx black). Felt like a lawn mower after riding my Bandit 1200
