I been working at expanding my repertoire of meals I can cook. You know, so when Blaster and I actually pitch a tent on one of the moto adventures, we don't starve. I believe we are finally over the boiling eggs. I was a bit scared when I went to flip the baby back ribs, and flames were shooting out of the grill. Fortuitously, the grill didn't catch the house siding also. Do you think the flames helped achieve that sought after caramelizing?

Well my pedals on the mountain bike have finally worn out so tonight I picked up a new set. One side is setup for clip in shoes and the other is wide like normal pedals so I can ride more casually with regular shoes...now just to get back at it in preps for Ecuador. :D

So the insurance company called me today and is declaring my bike dead.

I think the sticker price on my bike was about $20.4k, and it is 28 months old with 65k miles. They think the replacement value is $15,880 plus tax/tags. I also have a $6k accessories kicker on my policy which they said it's obvious I would get the full amount (I could easily produce that much in receipts). So in the end, they will give me $21,880 plus tax/tags.

To be honest, this seems reasonable. I think I would have trouble selling my bike just before the accident for $15,880 without having panniers on it.

This is my first time dealing with this. Am I missing something?

Sounds reasonable. They look at other samples in the marketplace to compare for pricing. So you might be in luck there as there probably aren't that many '12 GSAs with that kind of millage.

More importantly, How are you feeling?

Hope it works out because that sounds pretty darn good in my opinion.....another GSA?

Oh, and if no pictures than it didn't happen!!!! Too soon? :D

So how are you feeling? One thing I am curious about when I saw your set up and then heard about the accident....when you were rear ended did you fall back and hit the top case? Seems like there is potential to.....

I'm not sure what really happened as I was in the air a long time. Both panniers and the top case were ripped from the bike and I was thrown into the air. I definitely didn't land on anything but the street. The bulk of my impact was taken by my left shoulder and the helmet. I had a minor concussion and I still have pain and a large bruise on my shoulder. Other than that, I'm just sore all over.

Not sure what bike is next. I've been wanting to add a sport touring bike (RT, Trophy, FJR) to the stable when one of the GSs died, so I guess that has happened. I'm not in a rush to decide.

These are the only pics I have. The insurance adjuster did say he's never seen a drive shaft system that destroyed from an accident.

I'm gonna be selling my GSA(2010 30th Anniversary with 37K miles) soon and am starting to look at what I should ask for it. I was thinking $15K fully loaded with cases+rotopax and Akra exhaust or $14K stock. Opinions?
