especially married guys! who would head home on a nice day when you can be out in Pachaug.
As far as I know this is NOT the loop, the horse farm is a sensitive issue and the arrows DO NOT bring riders this way.
Theyre great people. We slow way down if the horses are out and wave. Ive stopped and talked to her a bunch of times.
I have encountered groups "driving" as well. Legal or not that is probably what they were doing.
It used to be arrowed but somebody flipped two arrows... grindstone split with Fowler the arrow clearly pointing left and it looks like it's been moved. It's an old red arrow without the back ground and it wasn't there about 2 months ago because I was looking for it
Saturday looks good, 50's and dry...
I'm probably gonna start same place close to Beach Pond, parking on Escoheag works out well for me, but possibly can meet at Mr.Misery...
That's the idea!54F on Saturday.Cant miss that.Anybody wants a start at Spaulding?
I’m in for Saturday from Spaulding.
The original route never went up Fowler. It went down Grindstone for 1.5 miles and went right on a woods road.Right where Grindstone hooks hard left. (look at google street view and you will see it) It was a private road that the landowner allowed the route to use, but people were going in there with trucks and Jeeps and partying and wrecking the place. The owner had enough and locked the gate. The club (CCC) was forced to re-route and sent everyone up Rte 49. Fowler has never been on the state approved route. promoting it here will get it shut down.
I would suggest everyone go back and delete the directions posted over the last couple days
look who keeps missing us...
Happy turkey Rusty!
Staying current mostly to keep an eye on the state police land grab. I hope to do a lap around Pachaug when I'm back in CT for a visit. Likely in May.
I must say, in 10 years thats the way I have always gone, never knew any different.
Last thing I want to do is screw things up for everyone. I have GPS tracks I have followed forever thru there.
I will admit I have never used a roll chart out there, I don't have an odometer, or ridden with anyone else that uses it
Wont be a big deal to eat a few extra miles of tarmac.
Last ride of the season is today, before the maintenance hog demands some $$$
kickstand up 0900
I'm not so sure anymore, I'm in charge of the kid for the next 10 days, his mom went to visit old country, I got to step up my game... and maybe ask my mother to take him tomorrow :)
See you there!
I'll be there with another rider

Wish I got there earlier and met some of you guys. I went out with a bunch of PF's. We had fun! Except when one guy drowned his bike.
where did he drown the bike?
Today was a great day.
glad I skipped out, had great time with my kid :)
I rode the loop first time maybe in 2010? Didn't know what I was doing and just followed MRT10X and Droporama crew. Don't remeber who took me to the Fowler first time, but as few mentioned, we slow way down on those roads, stop and take helmets off when we meet them on trail, sometimes chat, no one ever indicated it was a problem...
I know the turn off Grindstone, but it has been gated as long as I have been riding there.
