    I think not.

If you built a tire to last the whole race, then I suspect lap times would be a LOT slower. What would be the point of that? You'd end up with a parade where the outcome is determined after turn 1 / lap 1.

Almost time for Monaco, not my favorite race, but always glamorous. remember they do P1 and P2 on Thursday, so set the DVR.

Michelle & I were in the principality last fall. Pretty cool to ride through, but it was hot + rush hour, so in the end we were glad to get out again.

headed through the tunnel (the wrong way)

so remember we discussed why the Speed guys didn't go to Austin last year?
first purpose built track in the USA, home ground etc etc...

the NBC Sports guys will all be in Monaco (lucky bastards).

glad to see them doing it properly! :thumb

oh... and the race is on NBC (not NBC sports) so no Today show, no Meet the Press... just F1

    yeah!

What was weird is that Speed sent everyone down for the early week stuff. Then scampered home for the broadcast. Too cheap to spring for production trucks, I guess.

Varsha must be green with envy.

    no joke! :thumb

I think initially the Speed guys planned on being in Austin for the race as well, because they were "auctioning off" their hotel reservations on Twitter. (and not sounding too happy about it either as I recall).

Wow. Sure sounds like FOX, though. Cheap all the way. I'm so happy they're losing the Premiere League (especially after they foisted Gus Johnson on us. We're getting Gus and Warren Barton for the Champions League final. I may mute the entire broadcast. Both of them are just awful.)

Every time you post those photos, I am again impressed by the technology packed into the wheels hubs of a F1 car. They are amazingly complex things.

Williams testing stepped nose, but only for practice. Using regular nose in qualifying & the race (at least that's the story for now).

Fred dealing the smack down to Red Bull... Kimi doesn't seem to care one way or the other...
If Fred wins, he'll be the first guy to do it for three different teams.
