Kimi is probably ordering the Team a T-shirt!
FIA drop case against Ferrari but call upon the International Tribunal to look into the Mercedes/Pirelli test
couple of diff wings to be tried by Force India
High speed / low downforce:
and higher downforce version
low downforce wing at STR too
new narrow noses at Lotus
Are you going this year, Greg?
Michelle was supposed to be in Netherlands for two weeks so we couldn't....
of course that trip got cancelled... so we could have <sigh>
my mate Merc 264 is on his way though
I think he's up at the hairpin like we were last year
Last year was my first year and this years ticket went towards my new bike...
Next year I'm hoping to do the double header of CA and NJ.
One wonders if any team set up their cars for the wet of qualifying? Maybe not, given that the rain was more misty than sustained.
Poor old Massa. I'm sure Hamilton's chuffed to beat Nico for a change. Nice to see a Williams so high. TV's already going gaga over Valtteri Botas, calling him a superstar. Good grief.
I'm thinking Williams has a slightly wet setup on their car like they did a few years ago in Brazil. That put Hulkenberg on pole but he ended up getting lapped in the dry race.
Vettle wins again
Nice drive by Alonso (again). Put him and Vettel in the same car and Alonso would be beating him like a red headed step child.
crazy race.. lapped traffic all the way to 5th?
good drive by DiResta & Massa. I wonder if Kimi had fuel issues & they had him dial it back.
oh well.. the circus rolls on.
As much as I do not like Vettel he pulled another of his trademark runaways. Glad Alonso pipped Hamilton and was rather disappointed with Kimi's loss to Masa. I'd love to see Kimi take Webbers spot at the end of the year but I don't think he will leave Lotus.
I turned off the feed before I could see it, but apparently the crowd was booing Vettel on the podium and chanting "Fernando"
He dropped like stone once the race started.
Tire trouble I was told
Sad news out of today's Grand Prix, track marshal killed in accident removing a car from the track.
Very sad about the marshal. A strange accident.
Hate to see Vettel win again. Zzzzz.
Massa had a nice race. So did Alonso. NBC showed Alonso passing under yellow. Why no penalty? Was it another of those "not really a yellow" deals?
Lotus' tire advantage didn't last long. All things considered, a 3rd for Mercedes isn't bad. The team is steadily improving. And Hamilton will be pleased to be on the podium instead of his teammate.
A few boos mixed in with the cheers during Vettel's podium interview. Not that bad, unfortunately. It was a Ferrari crowd, they gave Alonso a nice cheer.
He did. There was a radio message to the effect that he was in danger of running out and to go into fuel saving mode.
Apart from Vettel's flag-to-flag win, it was possibly the best GP this season (so far). I don't begrudge Vettel the win I'd just rather see him (or any other race leader) be challenged for the win. There was a lot to keep the viewer interested with just a short "settled" period.
It will be interesting to see if Red Bull continue to lobby for a tyre change now that they've shown they can win with what Pirelli have supplied.
The FIA hearing over the Mercedes/Pirelli test bruhaha will be interesting: The information is that they used a 2013 car (as opposed to a 2011 car), that they did a thousand kilometres and their two main drivers conducted the test instead of test divers (while wearing plain helmets - presumably in an attempt to hide the drivers true identities). It does seem difficult to find a defence for their actions.
If deemed guilty of a breach of the rules (and on the face of it that seems likely) it will be interesting to see what sanction is applied: Fines are meaningless. Stripping them of Monaco and Montreal results will favour some teams more than others in terms of the championship standings.
It never ceases to amaze & amuse me listening to you FF be hating on Vettel non-stop. I wonder how many of you clowns have actually raced, and WON............................ANYTHING?
Is Seb a little self-absorbed? Maybe. But I bet just about anyone, at his age, in his shoes, would be acting about the same way.
glad you're amused.... mission accomplished
PS: they had a nice piece about young Seb on NBC after the race, 36 hours in the life of an f1 driver. made him seem a bit more likeable.
but that's the thing about sports... we don't all have to like the same teams. That's what makes it interesting.
I think we all need to hate on the Dutch!
lot of love / hate in this shot too (hammy fans pretty universally dislike Alonso & vice versa)
and me? I hate the fact that Kimi got lapped...
