Sure sounds like Red Bull are still in for Kimi. Make it happen, Fate. Red Bull would be hard to beat with that pair, but I'd love to see the petulant one's head explode.

Bob Varsha! Even if it's just for this race, what a pleasant surprise!

McLaren apparently said this week they've abandoned this year's car and are now working exclusively on next year's.

The last time they did that it was a Newey design.

It's quite remarkable that one man is so clearly better than all of his peers, year after year. I know Red Bull spend more money than anyone else and that surely is a difference maker, but Newey's superiority is just amazing.

Two shredded tires on Friday (Vettel and Alomso) but Pirelli insist they were induced by punctures.

The weather obviously played a vital role -- the top three all benefited from perfect intermediate wet conditions on their final lap, whereas both Ferraris crossed the line just after the checkers dropped and couldn't get in a final lap, and the last car across, Hamilton, is the pole sitter.

Still you have to admire what Hamilton's done this season. Is it just me, or has he matured as a result of changing teams?

Forecast tomorrow is PM thunderstorms. Probably means they have just as much chance of rain as they did today. I believe the leading qualifiers all have minimum wing set-ups. It certainly looked to me like the Red Bulls did. If it rains, those cars will be compromised.

I wonder if anyone qualified with a high downforce set-up?

God, I love having Vasha back, even if it's only for one race.

Diffey is every bit as good. We're lucky to have one or the other.

It's a matter of personal taste. Diffey's constant noisy cheerleading gets on my nerves. Others, including NBC brass, disagree. :lol3
