I'm planning on doing this once again.

I finished 3rd. in the 40+ Ironman class in 2012 riding my XR400. I'll be on the same bike, more than likely.

This will be my 5th time to do this race. On a team with a DR350, Ironman on my KLR650(see thread link below), a team effort on the XR400, then solo last year, my best finish.

    KLR

This cost me 2nd place last year. 110 miles in.

    Early on...

After the finish...Me with my crew...WHAT CREW? You might ask...yeah, I was thinking the same thng.

so do they actually have a "big boy" class for big bikes are just run what ya brung...

could be fun to get a couple of us and have a 950/v-twin class like the highland park HS last month.

what's the date on this years ride and would it even be feasible to ride a 950 around the loop?

Oh my....the KLR was a heavy handful in some of the spots.....chest deep sand-whoops. And ruts deep enough to drag your feet off the pegs. I'm sure you could do it on a bigger bike, wouldn't be any fun, but possible. There's no engine displacement sizing to the different classes though.

The date hasn't been officially announced yet, but It's ALWAYS been the first weekend in June.

yep saw that today we are #252 in the duo teams, doesn;t look like there is any big name pro's running this year. Maybe they will and just not listed yet, its always fun to watch the big boys go at it.

I looked and last years thread had 7 pages and so far there hasn;t even been one page this year. I just hope like one guy said last year that this isn't the beginning of the end for this race cause it is a real blast.
