    Was this tree next to a tennis court?

    That tree is known as an Osage Orange, Hedge apple, the french called it a Bodark or Bow tree the native Americans made bows from it, the wood from a Hedge tree will damn near throw sparks off of a chainsaw blade, i have seen fence posts over a hundred years old that just seem to get harder with age, some of the first farmers on the plains would plant hedge close together to use as a living fence, it was known to be bull high and hog tight, as in a bull could not jump it and a hog could not squeze through it.

    Hedge apples are more the size of soft balls.

    And today in saw some spectacular flowers from the monsoon we have been having but I hadn't brought the camera because it was "old" territory. I may sneak back there tomorrow and get a few shots.

    I like flowers. Native Australian flowers in particular - many of them are very delicate. Its spring in OZ so they they are all out at the moment. Heres a few pics I took today.
