The title says it all; I hoping if enough people whine for it, I can have a Tiger sport too!
You CANNOT start a thread like this without pics. It's a law.
I'll buy one. Bring it on.
I had wanted one when they announced it. Ended up buying a roadie Tiger 800 instead.
I need to test drive a roadie, but I'm waiting to next year to make a decision - hoping that the Sport will be a 2014 model!
I would love a bike like that from Triumph, especially if they used the Tiger 800 engine and gave it decent passenger ergos.
I'd really like a sport/standard version of the Tiger 800 roadie.
Nice looking bike. I'd take one.
Make the XC a little more dirt and turn the Roadie into this and I'd swap my 13 for it.
I sure do want to ride one...oh well!
That would make a lot of sense.
How does the Sport differ from the standard 1050?
In a nutshell, new single sided swingarm, +10hp, 7% better fuel economy, revised suspension, new reflector headlights, new subframe (lower), new exhaust & fairings.
You had me at new headlights.
I took all 3 New Tigers (800 Roadie & XC and 1200) out before buying my 800 Roadie. Since I don't do anything offroad (yet), the 800XC wasn't worth it to me and I liked the quicker turn in of the Roadie.
For as massive as the 1200 is, it carried it's weight well, but was far too big for the typical riding I do and is $5-6k more, so I really couldn't justify it.
Liked them all, don't have the budget or garage space for all of them though...
How about a proper big sport bike to replace the Daytona 955 that they killed off several years ago?
Um, ok: how's about a tiger sport?
Ok, so "my local dealer told my buddy....."
That the Tiger 1050 Sport is likely to be imported for 2014.
Normally, I'd be willing to dismiss this as utter BS, but it made me wonder. Why would he lie? Seems like if anything he'd have the incentive to say it won't come, if only to keep buyers focused on current product lines.
Has anybody else heard anything about it being imported? Seems like a sweet spot right between the old Sprint and the old Tiger 1050, with buyers of both bikes wanting something more in the middle.
My only input would be to improve on the rather funky front "fairing" Could I live with it? Ya I suppose so but.......
I like it, and I bet the aftermarket could come up with some cool options.
