There's been lots of talk on the Super Tenere forum. Check out this link for more info about Micatech V2 Cases on the Super Tenere.

Bob & Sue, you saved my back this weekend. . .

Coming back from Quebec with my oldest, I hit a muddy rut pulling over to snap a photo of the Balsams. Notice the bike really didn't go over all that far.

The Right-hand box is our clothing storage, bike sat in the mud & rain for a little bit (to take the photos) before standing back up. A torrential downpour for the next 45 minutes of riding through the mountains cleaned off all the mud. . .

(And of course, no damage to the Micatechs or us ;-)

Just a quick note to say that these bags are awesome! I just finished a 2300 mile trip around Lake Superior and I love these things!

I tested them on H58 (between Grand Marais and Munising in Michigan's UP) when I deer decided to play chicken with me and tried to jump the back of the bike. It's hind leg(s) hit the left pannier and only slightly dented the door. I spent the rest of the day riding through rain and had no leaks :clap

Sorry for letting this slip for so long - I was (and still am) absolutely crazy busy at work. What do I need to do to get the lowering kit? Thanks!

Hi Micatech,

Just wondering if you could help me with an idea of cost for the whole set up (Vein colored: Pilot cases, mounting rack, medum top box, forward & rear mouting plate, padding.... everything I'd need to mount them) on a 2010 BMW R1200GS + an idea of the cost to ship them to Sydney Australia?

PM response is fine

Thanks TD

Hey Pilot Case owners ... If you are as anal as I am about keeping things organized inside your cases, I found a cheap solution that works really well for the pilot cases: Rubbermaid Modular canisters fit almost perfectly inside of the cases. You can get them at pretty much any walmart, they are cheap, clear and share the same dimensions between size (except depth) so the lids can be swapped (no looking for the 'right lid')

They fit four across in a full size (right) case and can stack - I use three 5 cup canister containers stacked on top of three 10 cup containers, and one 16 cup container - that's 7 separate compartments and it takes up the lower half of your right case. (Or left if you don't have the cutout) Last note - you can only stack them about halfway up the case due to the taper of the case - you can't close the door if you stack them higher. :deal

Put a big set of bags on my 1150 GS. Very happy and really look good with the bike:

Lots of room to access the rear end without taking off the side bag. Might even look into getting a full size left case:

Top case sits a bit lower on the 1150 than the 1200 but that's not a big deal for me:

Gives the bike a nice profile:

Very nice, robust product. And of course, great customer service.

I've had my Pilot cases for just over a year now, and really love them...but

I've been kicking myself the whole time for not doing exhaust mods and getting a full sized left case. Anybody know what silencer will fit behind a full sized left case on a R12GS?

What kind of trade in policy do you guys have?
Seriously though. Is it possible to get just a left box?

Glad to hear you're enjoying your luggage! Hattech makes an exhaust that is slim enough to work with your Pilot cases. Inmate CUG posted this photo of his:

If your bags were new, we'd be happy to do a swap. Otherwise, we can certainly get you left full size case. Give us a call :thumb

We’re starting the New Year with a big resolution: New designs for new models!

We are working on a new mounting system for the Triumph Tiger800/800XC to fit the slim Micatech V-Pilots. The V-Pilots come in 8” and 10” widths.

Also look for the Micatech Pilot luggage for the Yamaha Super Tenere XT1200Z this season. Additionally, we're working on a rear Pack Rack for the Super Tenere so you can complete your adventure touring setup with aMicatech top case.

Resolve to end your search this year for the best aluminum panniers -- at Micatech.
