I don't know the market in CA, but I picked up this 2001 in very good shape, with about 3400 miles, with most of the stuff already done that I did to my 2003 for a little less than he's asking. That's not a horrible price. I do think it is a little high since it has no noticeable upgrades except grips. When I put my 2001 up for sale I will be asking that much or more because of its shape, mileage and because of all the upgrades. Worthy upgrades like Renthal bars and risers, hand guards, luggage rack, larger pegs, center stand, jetting, etc, all cost time and money and make the bike better and more enjoyable. That is worth something. I would make a knowledge based offer using nada and kbb printouts, and point out all the things you would have to do. That's not a low ball, just smart shopping. But, being in good shape and low mileage is worth something too, if its what you want.
