NOS downpipe for TS400:
You do know they can be Nikasil'd for about 2/3 the cost of some new Gilardoni's?
Send 'em down to me, I'll add 'em to the collection...
Great condition, original first edition DT250F manual printed Aug 1978. Lots of photos and diagrams.
In addition to the usual maint. info, it also has specs, but most importantly, it has a complete wiring diagram, invaluable for these older models.
I took my 5 speed T3 trans apart the other day, and among other things, I found that my shift fork shaft is in bad shape. It looks like it is chrome plated, and the plating is chipped all over the place. Anyone have one that they would part with?
selling --BMW Airhead R100GS set of Parts -- over in the FM
I guess someone nuked my ad in the FM
All stock, excepting the obvious add-ons (backrest/luggage rack, mini crashbars, windscreen). Starts and runs, but motor is noisy and I wasn't getting any heat on the #2 cylinder. One of the carb overflow tubes was leaking fuel too - maybe a hung float? Dunno.
26k miles. Clear title. Not sure what it needs, but the basics all look good ... tires are decent, tank looks MINT inside. Seat is really, really nice. Dual disk front, pipes are in very nice shape. $500 takes it home. Pics from tonight:
Sussex WI, just west of Milwaukee.
CB900F above has been sold.
Wanted to make this my winter project, but priorities changed and I'm off running in another direction.
1971 CL350, clear title. Previous owner had it running this season with the new carbs, I haven't had time to even charge the battery.
Fresh VM carb kit mounted (around $350 from Dime City Cycles).
New-in-package bolt kits from AlloyBoltz.com. New muffler clamps for the CL style pipes (pipes not included, sold those off already).
Extra seat, headlight bucket and fork covers, etc etc etc. See pics, email me direct (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions. I'm just west of Milwaukee WI.
Tank on the bike was modified, but only on one side. Spare tank.
Take the bike exactly as shown, no extras (but INCLUDING the new carb kit) for $700 cash. Or take it all for $900. Pics from today:
Anyone want them? I also have the center stand. Make me an offer if you're interested.
I need a set of mufflers for a /2 BMW.
And wouldnt mind a set of the carb intake tubes that dont have 1/2 the chrome flaking off (I already have a set like that)
wtb tail light lens for my airhead. Got rearended and need to fix. see em on ebay for $30, looking to see if I can find a better price. Its for a rider, so as long as its not falling apart condition is not much of an issue.
How hard is to find old parts to restore a vintage bike?
Depends on what brand. Parts for a lot of the British bikes are quite easy to come by, especially Nortons. I can have parts for my Norton on my doorstep quicker than most any current model.
BMW /5 and up are fairly plentiful, but not always cheap. It pays to shop around.
Its like any old vehicle. At first hard as nails, but then after you get your sources together fairly easy for most stuff new and used. Specialty suppliers, ebay, places like ADV, and you will even figure out local sources that sell stuff that will work on your bike like spark plugs/fuel filters, etc.
