Just curious, but why would you want the scope mounted so high over the axis of the bore?
I've got the 10/22 and a BuckMark as well. My Buckmark is all black with the FiberOptic Sight. Makes a great plinker, I've put close to 2,000 thousand rounds through it so far if not more. I had a few jams using the Remmington Golden Bullet Bulk Ammo when I first bought it but it's been flawless ever since. I've only had the 10/22 a short time; but I shot the hell out of one when I was a kid.
(Here's a pic of what mine looks like; it even came from Davidson's to my local Dealer 10-8 Tactical in Jefferson LA).
I have a big head.
Just picked this up on sale for $149 + $25 off that covers the background check. Gonna give it to my daughter for her birthday. My first gun was a Marlin Bolt action. Accurate as all heck. Even made my poor shooting look good. Would love to get a Marlin .22 Lever.
Hey guys I just moved to Lenexa, Kansas and was wondering if you know if there is any .22 shoots around this area. If anybody is from around here. Thanks Ben.
Try the Kansas State Rifles Assn. website...There are lots of shooting opportunitys in your area.
Lousy lighting, I need to spend some time with the camera to get the colours and balance right, but here's the Ruger Six again, floating on a sea of Ammoe. No shortages in Berkeley. This, and the SIGs, are tough to capture since they're all black.
That is a nice looking gun Andrew.
Do you think that the second amendment applies to individuals?
I had a Single Six once and could not hit anything with it. I should try one now I am a shooter, maybe could hit something with it. At the time a bud had a Walther PPK in .22 and I could chase a coke can around the ground with it point shooting.....maybe something was wrong with the Single Six?
I'm pretty good with mine, but I would benefit from some instruction. I keep wanting to use the two-handed pistol grip I use with the SIGs, and the revolver just ain't built the same way. It's fine single-handed. Like I said, I want to get better at it.
That is probably my next gun.
My Izhmash 7-4 biathlon (and my AR)
I can shoot both ly SAA'a way better one handed point shooting than trying to shoot it like a 1911. Two handed just isn't conduscive to the design.
I still think there was something wrong with my single six, no body could shoot it very well.
Passin' it on...
Yo, thanks to NDEBT I have a .22 MAG cylinder now, but it dunna' quite work right in my Ruger Single-six not sure what's up wid dat, but I suspect this is what Ruger means when they say they ensure each cylinder is properly "timed" to the weapon. It'll rotate, but slightly hangs-up, sometimes, in my revolver. I'm no gunsmith, but I cleaned it up and inspected it for defects and there are none (some surface rust on the cylinder side, which I've cleaned off) that affect its operation.
My loss may be your gain - if you need a .22 MAG cylinder, lemme' know.
Thanks again Mike, gotta' homebrew with your name on it, should you make it out to the Great NorthWet someday.
I think I want a S.S. Bearcat.
Anybody have any experience with one (stainless or blued)?
... I had a Single Six and wish I still had it now
... I didn't have any trouble hitting stuff with it. My best shot was standing on the side of my pickup box hitting a sitting jack rabbit maybe 50 yds. off
... with my uncle's Marlin .22 lever-gun, I hit a moving jack rabbit at about that same range
... fun little plinkers and cheap to shoot
My Buckmark with can.
Buckmark before barrel change.
10/22 with can
10/22 w/o can
193? Colt Woodsman Match Target.
You have too many guns.
Definition of 'too many guns' = doesn't have a motorbike
