I was having a gun discussion with someone yesterday and it dawned on me that I have yet to hear a reasonable/rational answer to several questions.

    1) Why push for regulations so similar to those that were a proven failure during the Clinton admin ? What has changed that would make these new regs work ?

    2) How do these new regulations provide guaranteed safety for our society to the point that I should be comfortable in giving up my rights ?

    3) Knowing the definitions of both criminal and mentally ill, how do these new regulation stop both criminals and the mentally ill from acquiring illegal weapons or using some other type of weapon to commit horrible violent crimes ?

    4) How would a round limit regulation prevent someone from simply carrying more clips rather than more rounds in one clip ?

Anyone here have any leads to some type of explanation of the above ? :ear

    Not at all. :lol3

Those are all of the same thoughts that I have had regarding those questions which is why I feel that there is no reason or anything rational being proposed as an answer to these questions. I guess that I am just mystified that others do not ask these questions of themselves before trying to convince me that I will be better off if I allow the government to control my means of self defense.

I guess I can comment here.
I gave up trying to convince folk of the idiocy of gun control. Heroin, crack, opium etc. are all illegal yet they find there way into the country into the country by the ton. Even large items you would think would be impossible to get in still make it. Look at the gray/black market cars and bikes here already.
Did you know a semi-skilled machinist could easily build an automatic weapon in the garage (Look into the history of the Sten gun)
BTW, the greatest mass murder in this country was committed with box cutters, not guns.
Guns will always be available to someone who really wants one. Even if they were all taken away from the general population they would still be out there (see how many have been stolen/lost by law enforcement and the military).
Look into the accounts of Poland during the nazi occupation. The resistance and criminals still were armed.
I have given up, the country is doomed and the only solution is to hit the reset button.
I am not the one for the job but someday someone will come around and inspire those around him and the button will be pushed.
A recent event springs to mind. Dorner.
    Yep, the cop kiling cop.
How safe do you feel knowing a trained protector of the innocent is on the loose and out to kill? I know LA is all freaked out.
Remember these are the people you want protecting you and all your unarmed children.

They shot up two pickup trucks that didn't even meet the description of Dorner's truck. The second one was rammed first then shot up.

Had one, and it was pretty shy of being mil spec. I made some adjustments and replaced some parts. Ran fine after that.
