The problem is "Footloose" with Kevin Bacon (dirty dancing scene) was on the other night and larryboy has his RR going.

    She is obviously distracted :jive

    Hey guys,
    what up?

This morning, while we were gettting ready for work...

matt: Um. have you looked at the ride report lately?
me: no. I'’m trying not to.
matt: Well, you might want to. You insulted Victor, there'’s some weird shit from Questor, and some guy says his head is going to explode.
    me: *sigh*

Larryboy’'s right. I thought I told you guys I was taking a break? :scratch

RIF, baby! Reading is fundamental. :D

Let me quickly address a few comments...

Hey Victor! Congratulations - I was testing to see if you were still reading...and you passed! :thumb
    Actually, I'm really sorry.
I was using "Vince Buger," but then I saw that the axe murdering guy in Motel Hell was named Vincent so I quickly substituted the first "V" name that popped into my head.
It just happened to be Victor. I'm not very creative. :dunno
Sorry! I still love Yetis :raabia

    Uh huh.
    :confused

Make crazy Glorp dude your favorite!
    :lol3

(larryboy, that "crazy flute dude" line still cracks me up)

Make scary tweaker dude your favorite! :eekers
Haha, just kidding, acesandeights. Don't get your panties in a wad. I'm already in the doghouse for insulting Victor...:lol3

Oh no, you too, Count Zeroblah?

Well, we can’'t have any exploding heads...
Auntie Sha warning: graphic! ^^^ don't look!

So I'll leave you with that stuff and I'll get cracking on Day 13 (to post later tonight).

Hey Oliver, Undersea, redog, woxof (:flip for the kevin bacon remark :lol3)!
    And, welcome,
    MARCO POLO!

I go out into the wild for my own little ride. I come back and find this in a riot stage? And I don't even know where I stopped reading before I went out of internet connection and into said little ride. I fear reading past pages...:D

    Head Explody... :clap

I do that to my employees a lot. :lol3

As a result, we have a high turnover rate...

Still, it's part of the job - making people understand what's going on in my mind, and trying to get them to understand too.

I can't help it if their tiny brains absorb that much information.

    Q~

P.S. More Ride Report please. The collective is getting restless.

    Hey Lion BR, welcome back!

Uh. Yeah. This report went from Romper Room to padded room while you were gone...

(don't mind Questor. I think he's gone Nixels on us :lol3)

Day 13: 7/19/10 Spokane, WA to Eureka, MT 268 miles

Got up and had cold pizza for breakfast. Wasted a bunch of time with last minute errands, then got on the slab.

Went on 290 to 53 to 41, into Idaho.

I love how generic this sign is.

    That sounds inviting!

For being on the slab, this wasn'’t too horrible

I suppose if you are a dyed-in-the-wool offroader, any paved road looks like slab. But to me, the true slab is the interstate. ANY interstate...they're pretty much all the same: dull, dreary, boring, and overcrowded with idjit cagers. This road, on the other hand, looks like great fun.

Ah so much better, daily dose of littlewan/bigwan RR. I feel much better now, blood is returning to other parts of body now. :bow

I just hope that by all these idiotic "padded room" comments you relize your doing an amazing job, thank you guys!:clap

    Now back to RR!:whip

    Hi sion,
Oh yeah, it's way better than I-40 or something.
But I guess I just really prefer dirt, 'cause unless I'm hurt, even this pavement kind of bugs me. :dunno

Okay, you guys - I have some good news and some bad news.

First, the good news - a little more update for you...

    Day 13 continued...

We went through Bonner's Ferry and got some gas.
It was about lunchtime, but nothing sounded good, so we kept going.
There were a few photos that I really regret missing on this trip.
One of them was in Bonner's Ferry.
I missed the freaking Barber Ship! and Matt wouldn't go back. :cry

Click on this link and scroll down: this person actually went inside the Barber Ship and took some pics! :thumb
(Also, you can see some of the stuff we missed in Spokane...)
If I could do it over, I'd go back and get my head shaved at the Barber Ship.

I love these giant, fluffy clouds

Finally, we stopped at Fiesta Bonita

The waitress was nice enough, but slow.
It took forever to get our $11 burritos.
We were hoping for the lunch specials, but we had missed them.
By an hour! It was 4pm, now that we were in Montana...
it took a couple days to get the hang of the time change.

We were in Libby, MT. City of Eagles
(you were expecting Hotel California or something, weren't you? I'm not that old :lol3)

Montana was just as pretty as Idaho

We were hauling ass toward Roosville, to start the Continental Divide Trail.
I guess it's better to call it the CDR (Continental Divide RIDE), but I'm too lazy to change anything so I'm sticking with CDT.

I know this photo is blurry, but what are these things? Does anyone know?
They look like tall guinea pigs or potatoes with legs and I love them!

Okay, I guess that's it for now.

    Now for the bad news.

The first 20 pages were free.
Now, to get the rest of the ride report, you're going to have to sign up for a subscription (paid)
    at url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNndX9qua1o]SummerOfStupid.com[/URL]

    Just kidding!
Oh, man, wouldn't that be messed up?? :lol3

    :imaposer

OK. Listen up - the bad news is...
(Count zeroblah and scary tweaker dude, brace yourselves... I'm sorry!)

    I'm taking another break.
    Repeat -
    Taking another break.

This means no more updates until monday.

Part of the reason for the first break, was to prepare for this second break.
I was having a hard time transitioning from the OBCDR to the CDT.
Mostly, I wanted to just skip over all that and get to Colorado and the TAT (the best riding!).
BigWan told me to just drop the mouse and step away from the ride report until I can chill out and get back on track.

    He tried to distract me.

matt: why don't you take a hot bath?
    me: WTF? I hate baths.
matt: I thought women love baths?
    me: no. baths suck.

matt: want to go to a movie?
    me: no. movies suck.

matt: want to go out to dinner?
    me: no. restaurants suck.

matt: maybe you should go shopping. buy some new clothes?
me: no. I hate shopping. new clothes suck.

matt: well, what the f**k do you want?
me: I want one of these! :lol3

Since I can't have a baby goat, I thought a nice dirt ride would be nice. Matt was all over that. :thumb

We've been working extra hours (BigWan, mostly) so we can squeeze in one last ride.
It feels like the weather is changing and this is our last chance to re-do those parts we missed on the Pacific Crest Quest.
I want to actually do those parts, 2up, without the ATGATT snow hiking.

Tomorrow we shoot up to Lassen and take the PCQ, South. Days 8, 7, and 6.

I wanted to go South to North, same as in July, but it's supposed to rain this weekend.
North to South maximizes our chance to ride the trail without rain.
We'll see how those steep declines work as inclines...

    (Make mud your favorite!)

So, keep yourselves busy for the next few days.
    Have a great weekend.
Why don't you go ride or something? :D
I promise I'll be back with an adjusted attitude and renewed enthusiasm for the whole thing. Cross my heart.

:waysad Except for that needlessly harsh comment about somebody going all "Nixels" - but it's ok, I understand. You're under RR stress - and no goat or Kevin Bacon to take you to your happy place. :cry

Have fun on the ride :ricky

I ignored the different time zones when I was out last year, there was daylight and darkness..the rest didn't matter.

That little goat is cute, but these look like more fun:

    <object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/we9_CdNPuJg?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/we9_CdNPuJg?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>

I have info for Norm if you read this in time. Cedarville to Susanville and beyond on dirt.

Have fun on your little trip, LittleWan.
