He did! "Geek's Guide to the Husqvarna TE610 CAM Chain".

It was painful to be in the same room with him while he was editing the video. :lol3

Yay! :thumbI was hoping it wouldn't be too much. I have a bunch from california gulch, too. :evil

haha, I always imagine you guys at dinner, talking about the latest "WTF?" clip. :rofl
"Did you see that 'Waaaazzzzup Waaaasabi' clip??" :eek7

Ahoj Desmous, that's a spot tracker. Our mothers can look at a web page and see where we are so they won't worry.
I wanted to put a video of the "secret club house" that Xymotic was talking about.

Shhhh! It opens up the KaTMan Cave!
    :pynd

    :evil

    WOXOF - um. Thank you?
But, Yes! I've loved "Manamanah" forever. It reminds me of being a kid. :D

I thought BigWan was going to kill me when this movie first came out and people were talking about it. Phenom Menon! (doo doo be-doo-doo) Phenom Menon! (doo doo-be-doo) :lol3

We sang that Manamanah song a lot on this trip, but now I have no idea how it came up.
Can anyone think of words that sound like Manamanah? :confused
    Aside from the obvious, "phenomena."

    Let me know! :deal

haha, oh that happened to us with this song:

Cha Cha Cha "Mexican Institute of Sound"
(click on the orange "play" button)

I thought it would be a funny ringtone, but I was wrong. :twitch
Matt had to keep playing it over and over, trying to edit the ringtone clip.
    Gah!

    Enjoy!
    :lol3

These marmots are so cute, but I never get good shots of them.
I have this blurry one and then maybe a marmot butt shot from Black Bear.

I was going to say that we only see them when they're running away, but I realized that it's probably because we're always going too fast, and freaking them out.
Making them run for their lives!
Now I feel bad. Sorry, marmots. :(:

Oh, one last gulch photo, since I have it uploaded...

Okay, now we're climbing out of California Gulch...

We met up with the guys again at California Pass.

    Looking back at the trail...

    closer up

    Almost 13,000 feet!

I really like this photo of Marty.
That reminds me, Marty'’s a pretty hardcore dude...

(2015 - sound clip doesn't work any more, but it was, "I AM IRON MAN!")

Iron Butt Man - He was the 2007 IBR champion!
Yay, Marty! Dun dun dundundun dun nah nah nah nah nun something something...
(honk if you love accordions! :lol3)

Lake Como. This spot is sooo pretty.

Back at the trail again. Those colors!

Another photo stolen from Gus’' smugmug. I love his funny caption - can you read it?
"“Vic and Matt talk about white helmets, gray suits, black pants and other Yeti interests."”

Lake Como! So that's what its called! I didn't know but glad you posted it because it really is pretty!! :clap

Careful with the marmots! They may look cute but we saw two of em fighting when we were descending Imogene pass, I don't trust em! :patch

Yeah, they look all cuddly, but I'll bet it would go something like this...LittleWan + marmots = rabies!
    I just wanted a hug! :lol3

    Day 29 continued...

Okay, one last Lake Como shot. For WOXOF and Oliver. :D

As we were going down a really steep section, BigWan said, “"huh. I don'’t have any back brake...”"
    Um, exqueeze me?
    "“Nope, I got nothin'’..."
He used the engine to brake, so we were okay, but it must have been the steepness plus the weight of the schoolbus.

Victor had the same problem. Lost his rear brake on a steep section.
"No Back Brake" - another Yeti topic of interest. :lol3

Paul was pretty stoked! he must have brakes. :lol3

    Mr. Iron Butt

    Lookin' good, Gus! :thumb

Last year I took a picture of those loopy roads (above), but from the other direction...

This photo of Victor was a little blurry, but I like it anyway.

I freaking love the colors of this section! :0-0

    Another blurry map.
You can read about the Alpine Loop, here.

As we were going down Corkscrew Pass (again, without any back brake),
I told Matt I was hoping to get a group photo of the MN guys.
He told me not to forget (as I always do).
I'm shy about asking for photos, so I just took a quick one.
Sorry, Marty and Paul - that damn mirror...

    Boy band photo:
left to right: Marty, Paul, Matt, Victor, Gus.

They were going on to Ophir Pass, as the TAT directs.
Matt and I were heading over to Black Bear.
We gave the guys our Canyonlands Map and told them about the great loop we did last year. We hoped that they would do it.

Then we said goodbye and parted ways.
    It was sad! :cry
BigWan and I really enjoyed riding with those guys...
Luckily, we still had Black Bear to take our minds off of it...

I'm more of a lurker here but came across this report and just read it from start to this point and it only took me 5 days :rofl I'm kind of new to the whole DS thing and this is quite inspiring.

This has been one heck of a journey that you have so graciously invited us on and I must say :clapbravo:clap on your personal style and flair. Thank you so much for the time you take to share this with us. :freaky

Hi PCK, thank you for the kind words - glad you found us! It'’s always satisfying to lure shy readers out of hiding. :D

Hey, dave - these passes are so amazing, one can pretty much point the camera anywhere and click without looking, and still end up with gorgeous pictures.
And the riding! I think your 990 wants to visit the San Juans. :evil

haha, Desmous, very funny! :lol3 Okay, it was a stupid question.
I thought I had read that certain videos (from Sony, ABC network, etc.) were unavailable to other countries.
I had trouble watching some video in Mexico, but I guess it wasn't on You Tube
(hey, do you even read the czech parts that I put in for you? are they helpful?). :dunno

    Day 29 continued...

After saying goodbye to MN boys, we headed over to Black Bear Pass.
We were both excited and a little anxious...:arg

Oh, wow! It was so pretty.

So green and lush, and full of waterfalls!

    Norm.

    It's full-on Heidi land!
(Um. :eek7 or, maybe not. :lol3)

Okay, this is another one of those sections where I took a million photos and they can start to look the same.
Brilliant green hills, stunning blue sky, beautiful dirt roads. Yawn.

if you don't appreciate these pics, you're dead inside (but feel free to skip 'em! :lol3)

It was so sunny and bright, it hurt our eyes. I had to actually tone down some of these photos - they were too vivid!

But, it took me so long to just export and upload all the pics, I didn't fiddle or crop them much...

    The wildflowers were unbelievable!

So that's what she was trying to tell me when she was running so tempermental in Utah last weekend.

So, we almost rode right pass the sign for the top.

    Wow.
It’'s so freaking incredible up here.
I love this photo so much, I just want to eat it up! nom, nom, nom....

Yeah, pretty much. Not that I remember us checking or anything! :lol3
Black Bear is steep, but short - it was the long descents (Cinnamon, California, Corkscrew) that were giving us trouble.

:evil Yep, Ender's report is pretty great. I'll be sending you guys over to Chris and Oliver later - they got much better photos of the steps than I did...

    Day 29 continued...

We still had this part all to ourselves. :D

Marmots! Oh, how I love marmots. They'’re like squirrels in fat suits. :lol3
We came across a bunch up here, but scared them all before I could get good photos.
Here'’s a marmot butt, running away.
