"Noobs might benefit from a bit of hand holding to get through the administrative checks". I thought it was just a figure of speech

Oh I'm sure they've both busted their arses on the bikes once they showed up. It just reminded me of driving by a NCDOT crew working on the roads. 2 doods watching the others work.

Hijack... Ted, My wife is hooked on your "Tales" thread. Think you've sold a couple of copies at A53.

Thanks for the great pics and inside scoop.

I've been trying to select the most appropriate emoticon to express Eleanor's excitement. She's turning 2 next week, so it is a toss up between :wings and :poser. Of course there is also :happay. All this is to say: HOORAY!

And those pictures of the dunes were incredible.

Thanks for making this come alive for all of us. It is special to share in Ned's big adventure via and along with all 180,000+ you.

Ned - we are cheering for you. Hope you get some sleep before the big ride.

    Love,
    Us

One of the reasons to go with the setup that Ned picked was to keep the bike feeling like a dirtbike, vs a rallybike. With the weight frame mounted, the effect is not so bad as you might think. I rode some early versions of the rally setup and it is very balanced. On tight single track riding my 530 back to back with the beta for Ned's setup I found that it planted the front end nicely and calmed things down a bit over rocky and sandy terrain.

Chris, Scot and Ned have done an incredible job with the rally setup. They should be proud of what they've accomplished!

No idea who the Hillsame squid is...in any case, the "r" was omitted to save weight, I'm sure of it.

Jonah: "Just caught Deadly sitting on my bike, twisting the throttle open and closed with his elbow flapping up and down like a pump-jack, going ring-ding, ding, ding, ring, ring, ring-ding, ding, ding...Took me a half hour to clean the spit off my road-book holder..."

Ned: "Maybe they don't have four strokes in Canada? Vestal thinks he saw him humping my exhaust yesterday...Recon it's gonna be a long couple-weeks"

    Jonah: "I recon."
