For me to say sayonara to the green, the wet and the fabulous pacific northwest. In the morning I leave for Montana where I'll meet a friend and venture down to New Mexico where we'll meet up with 5 others and then proceed to Cortez Colorado to do the COBDR. I have my life packed onto my mule and after the COBDR I'll be moving to New Mexico to start a new chapter.

Mostly, I would just like to say thank you to some of you FF's (you know who you are) who taught me many lessons, in regards to riding motorcycles and life in general. For showing me some amazing places in Washington and Oregon to visit, ride and appreciate. And also for breaking me in for my first year of dual sport riding. I've learned many many things from everyone in this community and some local events and just want to say thanks. I only had a small taste of what our region has to offer and it made me fall in love with what we have and not take it for granted, but it's time to twist the wrist and explore not only some other geography, but also myself. This place will always be home, but I can't wait to see what else is out there. Thanks again, I'll either see you guys at Wetfest or AJ's Apple Vally Rally.

I never got up to B'ham for a beer or ran into you at the Des 100, but I saw your bike there. Good luck on your new chapter and happy travels!

Been in the road two weeks. Rode roughly 1200 miles before getting to Cortez, Co where I rode the COBDR and an awesome 675 miles off road. Finished the route today and now my bike is acting up... Staying in Craig, Co and hopefully figuring out why its making this horrendous knocking sound. A couple riders think it's my water pump... Been an epic adventure. Wish I could upload photos from my phone.

27 riders started the KLR rally and so far only 8 have finished.

I'm doing the opposite: leaving Albuquerque in the next couple months and moving back home to Washington state. We should compare notes.

Where in NM will you end up? There's lots of good riders here and year round riding in the dry.

I'll be just outside of Albuquerque, in Rio rancho. I got a small taste of the riding in NM on my way to Cortez from Dixon. Blew my mind. I had met a rider who also informed me that Rio rancho was right on the edge the desert with some pretty awesome riding. Looking forward to solving my issue with the KLR so I can get down there and start working...

here are some photos of my 2,000 mile journey. Washington to Idaho, Montana, Idaho again, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, back to Colorado and back to New Mexico. My bike ran damn near flawless about 90% of the route until the last stretch. still figuring out whats wrong with it.
