A 'shufti' came to Britain via the Arabic countries. It means to have a look around. Thus, in RAF slang, a reconnaissance aircraft is a 'shufti kite.'

So it follows that I could be described as a "clam shufti".

Anyone interested in a meet-up somewhere in Maine before the main event? We all need to know what a bunch of feckless twats we're in with.

I myself am fat and short of breath, but I can navigate OK when I don't get lost.

    Meet up? Yup.

    Maine? Say proximity to clams...

I continue to be busy prepping my bike, doing honey do list items and teaching my son to drive. Can the meet up be near a GA airport?

Call the ball, eight golf Victor.
I suggest somewhere around Aroostook, in respect to our Canuck rider.

I will soon have an identity crisis....

Friday I sell my share of 8GV to a local pilot.

It was my first. So :cry.

    But...I still have 6MA

    I'll look at the chart.

You have a problem with that? Name the place. We'll camp under your wings.

So - I'm still mending, but a fellow inmate lent me his Ural to ride to a funeral of a fellow rider Sunday.

I've been riding it around to get used to how it handles. I gotta tell you though - its nice to be on a bike again.

I wish I had one of my own to join you FFs.

I went for a ride with a couple of guys on Urals a week ago. They look like a blast; I had a hard time keeping up on the double track stuff.

But I fared better in the water crossings.

I just discovered this thread today, and read about 13 pages in before giving up and skipping to the last.

What have you decided in terms of dates? Three of us on KLR's will be spending a couple of days riding around Red Indian Lake and doing the Gaff Topsails in early August.

Looks like the last two weeks of August. I've arranged for my son to be with my mom then.
