Went out and about on the KLR this afternoon. Adventurous. The pavement was good. Some of the gravel had a skim of ice over it, which woke one up.

Hands fine, torso fine, legs fine. Feet a little chilly. However, how come no one makes a heated jockstrap? Ow.

You callin' me slack, 250 boy? Bring on your alligators, son! I got some Golden Boys on the 650 that will eat up all that sand. Ho -- wait a minute -- guess I'll take the DRZ or the KDX. KLR and Sand = low fun quotient.

You serious on this one, Rich?

I'm scouting the Rock Ride, not the sand ride. I do my best thinking above 70* and with BBQ. Hence my current location.:lol3

Hah!! That's what we call Long Range Recon, Rich! I suggest any all that are interested in this trip hustle their butts over to http://www.ridetherock.com. It's a great forum, with a bunch of cross-over to ADV. Not only is everybody very friendly (the notorious Skibum69 has already asked if we'll stop over at the celebrated Skibum Soiree), but I've already gleaned some excellent information on making my Android tablet more functional on the road. Good folk over there!

Anton (AtlasEXP) just left the Palace of the People on his way back to NY. We were doing training for Newfoundland by riding in mud and some snow flurries. I hope he'll post some pictures when he gets home.

He is a convert to the DRZ400. I lent him mine and he liked it very much. On the rougher sections, I was missing the DRZ. I'm glad I put a good skid plate on the KLR!

Glad to see you guys are out riding in the cold weather! So it looks like you're riding the KLR to NFLD?

Not me, Buckwheat. I bought me a Seat Concepts Fat Boy Happy Bottom Kit. You skinny ass Manxmen can sit and suffer on that Christless 2x4 covered with glass and barbed wire that Suzuki passes off as a saddle on the DRZ. I know which side my butt is buttered on.

Thanks for the ideas Mr. Butterbutt. Adding some glass and barbed wire might be an improvement. If I added another 1/4" to it I wouldn't even be able to touch my toes ballet style to the ground though.

Just pretend you're a trials rider, Ace. Barring that, you could buy platform shoes and dress like a member of a 1980's glam rock band.

The standard Seat Concepts kit is the same height as stock. Mine's the tall version.
