HERE'S the link to the GPS file. Dont recalc it, or youll ruin it. If you need to recalc it to match your mapset version, 1st duplicate it, then go ahead and do a recalc. Then drag the recalc'ed, altered one back to match the original.

And HERE is the RR report on it.

August can be a good month to ride Maine too. I usually take my family vaca time in Aug and camp near a lake fishin an kayaking and bugs aren't bad...black flies are gone and Aug is usually dry and keeps the mosquitos down unless you go chasing them in the wetlands...

never used any bug dope in a week of camping last August...

Hi, Here's the converted file into GPX tracks.
I use GPSvisualizer.com todo the magic.
And i added it in to the mapsource file with a version saved as a .gpx file

Note a .png file is best to use when your taking a screen view of MapSource .. jpg files are best for photos.

(and yes i'm a computer geek)

I am aware that you do ride the west also but until you ride Mex2Can and then make your claim, I think you are just trying to make the east coast look better than it is.

I would like to see east coast fall color some day though.

    Hi Frank,

I am relatively new ADV member & rider. I came across your epic Vermont trip. My apology in advance if these questions have been covered in your trip report:

    - During the planning phase when you were mapping out your route, how did you find these logging roads (all the unpaved roads)? Did you use some kind of a Atlas map?

    - I tried clicking on the GPS .pgx links in the threads, but got a no page found. Do you have your Vermont route posted someplace?

    - Any plans for upcoming trip?

As others have pointed out numerous time, the scenery and gravel roads of your Vermont trip was stunning. Thanks for documenting and sharing trip.

    Kam

    Hi Kam,
It was not easy. I had a lot of help from great guys like Maine DR who lives in Houlton and the fellas from the New Brunswick DS club. Without local knowledge up there it is a crap shoot witht the odds not in your favor of finding dirt roads that are routable.

Great ride, did it acouple of years ago, when you get into the logging roads, just so many ways to go, the route worked really well. you could get lost for days, with out it!
Just get out of the way when the logging trucks come by, they will mow you over, Oh and the dust cloud is blinding!!
just saying a wonderful way to spend a week, out mucking around!!
