The most AWESOME French MacGyver Royal! (wearing a speedo no less).
After surviving 12 days in the hot and cold weather of desert along with some sandstorms, Emile had created a motorcycle which would run on gas and save his life...

Handlebar and steering - The handlebar itself is formed by the tube of the jack, stripped of its internal mechanism, and the ends, wrapped in black tape, serve as handles.

"stripped of it's internal mechanism" - Obviously to keep the weight down. I think some French people are plain weird.

Well, in the middle of the Moroccan desert just 'walking out' is a little troublesome.
So you can die doing nothing, or die trying to create something and ride it. I'd choose option B also.

If the motorcycle broke down, would he have built a unicycle?

Was wondering about that whole survival part of this story. Pretty damn cool even as an art project though.

this story has floated around for a few years. there are skeptics that insinuated that it was at least partially staged. lot of work done considering he had "no" tools. he apparently made a boat out of one too. pretty kool though, not sure I buy all the story though

How often does he find himself in those situations? Sounds like a lot of implausible movie sequels. Doesn't mean DieHard-er-est isn't worth watching though. Yippiekaiyay Motherfucker!
