Since I just got off asphault, I don't know any dirthheads, so I ride alone. No problem until I fall in that muthrfukn deep sand. Then I need help getting the Bush Pig off of me. Mary Ann is my girl

I ask what their fuel range is. If it's more than mine I add them to my friend list. I hate stopping for gas every couple hours.

There is no data like empirical data and situational anecdotes.. there are just too many variables to make a good prediction...so try a little experimental mixture before drinking the whole glass of cool aide. ....A trial run shorter trip of a few days will bring out the true stripes on most any skunk. Otherwise you are gonna buy a ticket and then ski the hill regardless of the conditions..

I met up with 3 strangers and rode 5 days with them. It worked out great. Beforehand though we agreed early starts, long days riding, extremely difficult sections we would skip, and we would wait for others when the trail branches off.

How about Boxers or Briefs? Seems universally accepted comparison. I mean who doesn't want to be like Mike!!!
But I do go for the Mary Ann Type!

I was leaned on by a couple (married) good friends, last summer they wanted to have me make the camping arrangements and an itinerary for a 3 day ride weekend. They all to often let me pick up the ck at a restaurant to, (yet I am on a fixed income) they both work LOL. By end of second day they were not happy as I would ride more than an hour non-stop. And they wanted to stay at a casino the night we were heading towards home. Harley's not sure if that is the issue, but they said they won't go on any trips with me again. They like to make many touristy stops but there is not enough time if you want to go as far as they wanted to in three days. Five days yes I can do touristy things. Glad they were honest. They are inclined to trailer their Harley's in their toy hauler, site see and trailer home now. Not me.

If you had to give up all but one hobby, excluding riding motorcycles and traveling, which would you hang on to and why?

]used to ride in groups, with people I've known and ridden with for years. These days, I do all of my riding solo, either by myself or with my GF on the back. I have one buddy who occasionally takes a trip with me, but other than that, got tired of the drama and bullshit, now I stop where and when I want, go as fast or slow as I want, ride as many or as few miles as I want. I can stay an extra day or 2 in one place if I like it there, I can skip others if I don't.
If others want to go to the same destination, a rally or race or something like that, we just agree to meet there, leaves everyone to do their own trip to their own satisfaction. We meet up later and swill beers by the fire and exchange stories of our rides.[/QUOTE]

Totally agree, no more group rides for me either

    2) You either ride to least common denominator or decide to meet at the major intersections (determined by the pre-ride meeting)
    3) Beat the shit out of the "Ride your own ride"

Me, I hate "group rides". I've ridden dirt with a small group but each of the riders are folks I'd trust my life with. Street, typically 3 or less.

The best riding partner I've ever had left the state and we had a falling out. Man I miss those rides....
