Fantastic island, and such good photos. And your beautiful wife seems happy to go along every time. You are very fortunate.

Thank you all for your kind words. I am truly blessed that my wife loves adventure and riding (even as a pillion). She never complains when we ride for many hard hours on dirt roads and enjoys every one of our rides. Except when we fall down, but that is understandable :D
Now lets continue with the report...

We climb to the top to get a better view.

As usual, there is a small concrete column at the peak to mark for the cartographic society and, as usual, i climb on top of it. An other peak conquered by bike!

Time passes again without notice while we enjoy the view but now our stomachs are grumbling for food.

We take out our meager rations which seem to us like a feast!

Meanwhile a 4x4 pickup truck came up here with two locals who joined us for a raki and a bite (no photo of them)
We talked, we laughed, we had a very good time but we must continue with our ride because... well, yes, sunlight in winter is precious, i can't change it, can i?

Descending was a bit easier then going up. We where more prepared psychologically of what we had to face and went a little slower. Thats why my wife could take more pictures, without me having to stop at all.

OMG, did i ride so close to the cliff?

I must admit that when we reached the regular dirt road...

...it felt like a highway :clap

We continue north (asphalt road) for a few minutes and reach another village Chrisopigi (Χρυσοπηγή translation: Golden spring) Nice little village with its church...

...and its friendly people, mostly olive farmers or shepherds. The grandmothers (as usual) babysit the children enjoying the sunshine while their parents are at work. We asked for directions towards Kavousi back north which they gave us and of course they asked us to stay for a few minutes to fetch something for us to eat or a raki to drink but we where in a hurry and refused politely.

Sun is low and the mountains cast shadows on our path dropping temperature fast. The way back is through a gorge with tiny villages still inhabited only by shepherds and connected with civilization only through this dirt road.

Well, this ride is almost over but we STILL we haven't managed to get our bikes muddy. So, when we find a muddy puddle everyone just rushes through it...

    ...with expected results.
    Does this count as mudding?

The last km's till we reach the asphalt in Kavousi (Καβούσι) village is a piece of cake now. We are tired but our morale is high and we just press on without any complains.
