    That was an older pic. Got a set of the neoprene fork skins now. Also switched from Hepco Becker luggage system to Jesse's.

    I don't know what you're talking about. My 2'' risers work just fine. Granted I have it angled back, not just up. For me the stock bars are too far away more so than too short.

    I'm torn between the V-Strom and the Tenere.

    I've been reading threads on the Tenere Forum and it seems the Tenere has it's fair share of problems, low speed fueling, rear drive unit leaks, spokes breaking, etc.

    I haven't read of any major problems with the Strom. Sure, it has a chain drive, but isn't that more reliable than a shaft drive? Also, cast wheels don't have spokes to break! It just seems to me that a Strom would be the more reliable of the two.

    BTW, I own a Suzuki Bandit and it has been one of the most reliable bikes I have ever owned. Change the oil every 2k miles and ride it. Never let me down. I like that.

    I have both bikes right now. The Strom is a 2007 with 24,000 miles and no issues at all. Have gone through a couple of sets of tires, one new chain and sprockets. Great bike, runs like a top. Did some suspension upgrades and a Sargent seat. Madstad bracket and Laminar Lip on the stock screen.

    I have 12,000 miles on the Tenere. Great suspension and brakes. Transmission is smoother and overall quality of the components is higher. The motor is a bit agricultural, but a torque monster and surprisingly fast. No issues with the bike as far as spokes, but the throttle by wire is a bit touchy at times. I do wish the low speed fueling were better, but not a deal breaker. Sargent seat and mad stad with a MRA Vario screen. Much better weather protection than the Strom. The bike is heavier and bigger.

    The strom is a better bike for the $$, and will go further on a gallon of gas. The Tenere is higher quality, feels more solid and is better two up. Components are a notch higher.

    If I could only have one bike, it would probably be the Strom. I am lucky to have the choice.

    My son and I headed off to the Cycle World Ten Best Test ride to sample Ducai Diavels for the weekend.

    Both the Diavel at 162 HP and the Multistrada at 150 HP are a heck of a lot torquier and faster than either the WeeStrom or Super Ten.

    As a teacher I don't care about competing torques, acceleration whatever. I was able to buy a 2012 adventure that I will have for many years of trips and fun day rides! Yay Suzuki for producing a fun to ride, reliable, affordable bike for those of us that can't buy teneres, bmws, ducatis....... or have multiple expensive bikes. :D

    (You will have to take into account that my first bike is a honda rebel that I bought a year ago....)

    And at 50 mpg, what else could you want? :clap (except for 70 mpg for the rebel) :rofl:rofl:rofl

    Comparing a 650cc to 1200cc is not apples to apples... When said torn between a V-Strom and Tenere I thought about big Vee, otherwise people can be torn between a KLR and 1200GS and heck who knows what's better here :)

    In my opinion the Tenere is too new to get any of my money, the bugs have not yet been worked out. I'd say get the V-Strom if you want one now. Check in a few years to see if the Tenere is something you would like. Yes the V-Strom has bugs, but they are well known now, and easy to deal with. The Tenere has.....???

    heres my new to me 2006 vstrom in dallas cowboy silver blue, lol. this is my 3rd strom in 6 yrs. i can stray away to other bikes for a while, but i always come back to the strom. it came farkled up with only 8000 miles![​IMG]
