Are those Barkbusters Storms mounted to the stock handlebars? They look great and yes even zip ties and Tupperware would be an improvement over those stock model airplane plastic guards.

Barkbuster Storms on Pro Taper SE Raptor bars.

Rolled slightly forward in the stock mounts they put me in a good "attack" position when I'm standing on the pegs.

It wasn't until I got everything switched over that I discovered that I also needed to replace the clutch lever that the stock hand guards failed to protect.

And let's not even talk about the new hip that I got last month that most likely was caused by this little mishap. :dirtdog

There were no NOS OEM parts available for this 1948 model operator so we had to go w/ aftermarket parts and an independent mechanic. :lol3

I hope you did not go with used parts just to save a buck or two!

Hey! EVERY motorcycle out there is running on used parts. But no, I got shiny new titanium goodies. Lighter than a fart and more expensive than a divorce.

Probably good for 5 more HP and another 10 MPH.

Are you going to upgrade the suspension? That is going to be full load when packed-up.

    Best regards,

Yes, but only once the bike is fully broken in.

Actually, the weight load on this bike will not be all that bad. I will never carry a passenger, so the weight of all my added boxes, panniers, bags and tool tubes is less than half of what a normal passenger would weigh. The bike is designed to be able to handle the weight of a rider plus a passenger, so with just me (PHAT) and all my storage bins, it won't be all that bad.

And, this '17 bike has both adjustable preload, and adjustable rebound on the rear spring.

Was on Hwy 12 a few days earlier in MT and had two golden eagles refuse to vacate the road infront of me - nearly clipped one. A few miles later it was the same deal with a badger. All three were feasting on road kill. Didn't think those goldens ate dead stuff but they were.
