Went for a ride on Powderface Trail west of Calgary today ...

Never mind the risk, full speed ahead!! But first a Clif bar ...

Didn't stop on the gravel, but there was a pit stop afterwords where I got a picture of the Strom and my wife's Tiger 800 XCx.

While not my V-strom, I did notice that there were several out an about around Ireland. This in Dublin near the Ha'penny bridge. Good conversation with the owner.

And ran into a few million friends on the way home. We rode 550 miles and the bugs are from the last 30 miles. Unbelievable... Resized_20170819_203600.jpeg Message_1503198661060.jpg Message_1503198688941.jpg

Between track days on the Gixxer and nearly 3000 miles of bicycle riding this year so far, finally took the V-Strom someplace besides back and forth to work. The old goat is still a fun bike and better looking with time I think.

Just traded in a sport bike for this 2006 DL1000. I'm getting out of my comfort zone and into a better one. I can't believe how comfortable this thing is to ride versus what I was on.

It has 40k, a few nice accessories and I got it for a steal because it has the clutch chudder pretty badly. Gonna do more research into fixing that this week. But man, it was all smiles all the way home. Lots of wind buffeting so I'll need a different screen, but otherwise it's night and day difference from the aggressive posture and cramped knees I had been getting.

Clutch shudder is a annoyance but it will likely run forever without any real problems from it.

I've lived in WI for 25 years and that was by far the worst I've seen it. My bike smelled like dead fish the next day....
