The only part affected as of today is that the easy bypass from Hwy 550 to Ridgeway over Owl Creek Pass. Owl Creek is closed due to a different fire... the East Fork Fire in the east fork of the Cimmaron river. Just to into Silverton then skip Corkscrew, Hurricane and California passes and pick it all back up over Cinnamon.

Maybe I missed this, but what camera were you using and what image processing did you use?

Hope you like living here, but don't expect to much with the rat escaping the burning ship/California thing though because Colorado is little Cali. I bet a million people have left Cali and moved here in the past decade or so, and brought their lifestyles and political views with them. For what its worth, it gets more like California every year. For some that is good, and for some it just sucks. Anyway, everybody on this site loves to ride, so we can all find common ground on that. Keep the shiny side up my friend, and welcome! Enjoying reading your RR

I moved here from Michigan, but am originally from Cali. I find it a refreshing mix of the closed minded but less flaky midwesterners and the open minded but flaky West Coast folks. I like being exposed to all views, so I can make my place in the middle. Work hard and keep an open mind. I watch FOX and MSNBC. Both make me cringe at times ;)

Good to see you too. Unfortunately just found this site... I love it. I am considering buying a DS to park next to our beloved Hypers. Just can't seem to make up my mind. KTM 690 seems to have too many FI problems. F800GS too heavy. XR650L too unexciting. Same for KLR and DR. WR250R too weak, I know- I have the F. WR450 no sixth gear. XR650R too old.

KTM 500 EXC??? Is it roadworthy enough to do some I70/I25? Is it reliable enough?

Do they have a plated version of the 450? I thought only the 350 and 500 came with plates. Besides there is virtually no weight difference between the 450 and 500 so I figured why not the 500. Either one will feel like a dog next to our 400lb 110hp ducs :rofl

    right! :clap

I was looking more at the weight and commonality and the need for HP which is a wash really. All EXCs and Xcw can be plated I believe, they all can be palted with the proper application of money...

Imogene was my favorite. Cannibal Plateau was a close second. Anyone else ride it? My XR650l was a handful in spots but we lumbered through it.

Gotta be careful of the water crossings. It's more than possible for a grown man to drown in 4 inches of water around here. The current is wickedly strong and the rocks are slippery.

I'm a noob rider, but let me know if you'd like to ride. I've been exploring the trails west of Sedalia in Rampart to Bailey...

I had no idea this thread was still getting attention.. Good call on GC brewery, I'll definitely check it out.

Looks like I'm moving back to California after all, can't beat CA nursing wages. Next week I ride from Denver back to CA via WY ID OR and down the sierras to Sacramento. Considering yellowstone at my WY desintation. I'll post a RR to follow either here or in a new thread as it'll no longer be CO :( I absolutely love Colorado, but it doesnt pay to be a nurse out here unfortunately.

Good trip man! From a fellow Californian I was reading and rooting for you on your mad crazy escape! I'm applying for Nursing programs in So Cal and dealing with the mess that is our State education system. :puke1 But, you're absolutely right in that you can't beat the wages here. Or the surf for that matter. Glad you put up images of Engineer, we skipped on that pass riding Cinnamon, California, Corkscrew and Ophir instead a few weeks ago. I'll have to get out and see what I missed next summer for sure. Stay sane in Sac Town bro! :freaky

First: Man I love your pics

Second: Clint and I (hopefully Wayne too) are riding up there from east TX next Wednesday...starting early so he can get a Saddlesore 1000. Gonna stay in Pagosa Springs Wed night, go for a soak Thurs morning then eating a very greasy and fried breakfast. After that, COBDR for the next 3 days-no real plans other than get away from cell phone coverage. If youre not doing anything, come on by and meet us for breakfast. We will be on a couple of GSs with Texas plates; I would give my number, but am not very techy and dont want to publish it...could someone point us to a good breakfast spot there in Pagosa Springs and lets make the time 10AM...hopefully see you there (again, someone please tell us where we should meet for breakfast-biscuits and gravy must be on menu)

Third: This is actually my first post; when and if I lose my job it will be because of all the time spent on this website
