Hi Schelbi,

You can either call him on +31683850723 or text message him (its a cell phone). I don't know the seller either, but most Dutch are able to speak, read and write English to some level... <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I can't e-mail him either because I don't have an account at marktplaats.nl, but from the text in his advert it says only that the bike was imported to The Netherlands from abroad but wasn't put on Dutch licence. According to the advert, all necessary paperwork is available and included in the sell.

It is a rare piece, because it is a limited... but with some damage (I noticed the dended fuel tank too) and the CR fork could be replaced. If I did not already own 2 XLV's (with the last one almost fully restored) I would most certain, contact the owner. I could not convince my Mrs (also my Ministry of Finance, Foreighn and Internal affairs, etc... ;) ) to buy a third one...

PS Schelbi: Since the seller lives in Friesland Province, I don't think German would be an issieu too. But its always better, to start in English and see how it ends up! :hmmmmm

OK, thanks. I'm not interested in buying another XLV (in fact I'm trying to sell one of mine). I was just curios about the modifications.

2nd weekend of September are the 'European Open Heritage Days'.
What better way to visit them by 'Honda Heritage'? :evil

The red white and blue paint looks a lot better than the red and black, in Australia we only had red/black with a VERY odd blue/black.

Would be happy to do so, living in the Eastern parts of The Netherlands... But I don't know German postcodes, a close bye city / village would be more helpful... ;)

I live in postcode 9600 area (Groningen Province)

That there is a good lookin' bike. Nice and relatively simple; I think Honda could sell a bunch if they'd bother to update it.

G'day Twin Plugs,

Were they replaced as part of the rebuild? Are both forks leaking - if so, that would seem a bit odd :huh
The seals haven't been put in upside down?

Cheers,

Dan. :D

Only the left seal is leaking. They haven't been replaced - only the front fork gaiters have been renewed. It's not that strange, on f.e. the Honda Varadero XL1000V leaking front fork seals are quit common due to the absence of front fork gaiters (so I added them on that bike too)

It's not that bad though, will have a look at it upcoming winter.
