Looks like ya got alot of great ride'n your way!
Sweet pictures. Looks like a cool riding area. Thanks for sharing.
I got the throttle back together this morning. Handguards installed. I'm glad I got them installed because they came in use this afternoon.
Did you figure out your skid plate yet?
No I keep forgetting about it. Maybe I'll play with it tomorrow.
Yea,you should,unless your ride'n.
Since i'm wait'n on parts for the XR,the DR gets the love tomorrow.
I'm jealous of you guys with your 250's. I'd like to find one, I have a 650L but it's just too big and heavy for the woods around here. I'm toying with the idea of buying a 250r or 400r. How does the 250 do for short road jaunts, will it run at 45 or 50mph? I'm not looking for all out power, just a smaller bike I can run around in the woods with, low speed stuff.
That's exactly what I use mine for. Great bike for trail and woods riding and exploring. Also my daily driver in the summer 50-60 is no problem, I hit 65-70 on the freeway.
I run a 14/45 gear,and because its a 6 speed,55-60mph is quite comfy.
I mean when i pop her in 6th and hit a nice mellow rpm maybe 2800-3000rpm,she doing about 55-56mph,per GPS.
The way its geared,i might see 75-80mph max out of her,i go 170lb.
In the tight woods where i ride here in the Northeast,i run in 3rd or 4th gear mostly, which is where i like to be to give me range thru the trails.
First thru thrid its faster then my DR650SE!:eek1
Being a 6 speed and only weigh'n a hair over 200lbs it'll do everything but highway without worry. But thats what ya got the XRL for.
The only DS bike i ever had better in the woods was a KDX220R,if that tells anything.
Its awful peppy for such a small bike, even with a big(fat) dude like myself. I've been riding my bicycle more then I've ridden my 250. I'm trying to get into shape for my wedding in June. Every pound lost means that 250 will go faster right?
If she said she'd marrie ya what do ya gotta get in shape for?Its all over now pal.
My SO and I went riding on saturday. I posted up a ride report.
I've got a 4 GAL IMS tank I'll sell for &100.00 plus shipping.
I got a Clarke tank a while back, but thanks for the offer.
A Cnote is a good deal for that tank!
If it'd fit my bike i'd take it,but mines to old,it'd have to be 96 or newer.
Your pics are WHY I wanna move out there so badly!
I know I'll be taking my XR250 when I visit my cousin in Placerville.
Thanks, Duke. As long as you can also handle 6 months of snow it's paradise...!
OK,had to bump,just to see if anybodys been do'n any XR250R ride'n!
I gotta get a new camera,so no pics. But i did some mud'n around here. Can't wait till shit drys up.
