What are you guys paying for 04 XR250R's in great shape? I found one locally that I'd like to buy now and sell in the spring. (I'm currently unemployed and trying to make some money flipping bikes).

    basically looks like new.

I just noticed the swingarm looks like it has a hole in it, or maybe not, not sure.

Edit: yes there are holes in the swingarm from pegs being mounted previously. Seems like that was a bad idea. I may have to pass on that one.

Do you pay consulting fees for this market research? :lol3

I paid $1350 for my 2002 XR in the fall, fixed a bunch of problems, replaced a bunch of parts and lost money when I sold it for $1500 in the spring. Good luck.

Was asking 1300 firm. I offered 1100, before I realized there were holes drilled in the swingarm.

I've got a swingarm I'll sell you. Perfect condition, bearings and seals are good, includes the swingarm bolt and chain guide. PM me if you're interested.

Just picked up a 1984 250R for a couple hundred bucks to give me something to do in the garage this winter. Doesn't run and is about a 6 out of 10 otherwise. Feels like theres no compression. I just spent the afternoon stripping it down to the frame. Plan on cleaning everything up and then tearing into the motor to see whats going on in there.

Any tips or things to look out for in an 84 model?

It might have been mentioned earlier in this thread, but I did'nt go through too much searching.

Is the install of the uni-filter with uni-cage a "really" worthy un-corking mod? I know it is mentioned in the "Gordons"
mods as well as others. I am sure quite a few inmates here have done it. Please tell me what you think, and if so what jetting changes were made for freed up air flow, example 135 main and/or needle changes.
    I have 96 xr250r.

Hello I own a 1996 XR250R with a 284 thumper racing kit with stainless steal valves for 10 years as a trail bike. Thinking of painting the frame white like the 1986-1995 XR250R and 1991-1996 XR250L. Has anybody done this and has pictures? And no my bike does not look like a purple dinosaur anymore.

Just did a compression test on the '84. No compression but when I put some ATF in the cyclinder compression bumps up to 30. Thinking its the rings. Best place to get rings or if need be a piston?

Wiseco pistons and rings are the way to go, IMHO

Hi guys, I need some advice. My bike is a 1986 XLR250R [ Frame - MD20, Engine - MD17E ] From what I've read, the 1995 XR250L has the same engine. So my question....... is it possible to swap the XR250R's engine with mine? Or if one of you guys have or know someone selling an engine in good condition that would fit my bike, I'd be very grateful for your assistance. Thanks.
