is that wolfman tank bag and straps a pain in the ass to get gas?
Nope. Unhook the two front plastic locks, flip it back, fill up, re-attach, done.
That's why I bought the Arrow pipe......
Yup, had you figured to be an exhaust hole kinda guy. Yuck.
Sick bastards. You need to find a woman that rides. At least then she'll have a shot at getting away from you.
No problem, especially if she looks like Beyonce.
Let us know how that works out. On second thought, nevermind the update.:eek1
Wow. We need to start having some problems with these bikes to talk about
Just a heads up, once my S10 departs for its new home this weekend, I will have a set of HT racks and panniers for sale. They were mounted on the bike but never really used and look new....will post in the flea market once everything is final......
I feel sorry for any pillion that may grace/defile the back of your bikes. We seriously need something major to talk about.
OK, I just rode my tenere home from the dealer, it sat there exactly 6 weeks, but now I have a new rear shock, thank you Yamaha. I decided to fix the final drive oil leak at home, I have booth seals, O'Ring, nut and circlips . A friend of mine might be able to make me a special tool so I can do the job the way the maintenance manual says. At the same time I plan to lube (25000km maintenance, it's at 23000km now) the swing arm pivot bolt etc., etc. , and that's the challenge for this week. :)
Does anyone know if there were any changes made to the bike for 2013? Are the 2012 and 2013 identical?
Posted for clarity, following a confusing (web) conversation, both here (last month - 7th Jan) and on the Tenere site.
I can confirm that the ECU on the US bikes compared to the UK bikes is so different that the closed loop area can be removed on US bikes but not on UK bikes.
This means that on US bikes the O2 sensors can be removed after the flash but not on UK bikes. This explains why Power Commander supply an O2 optimiser module with their PCV when supplied to UK bikes.
If you are interested and have not yet fallen asleep, there is a bit more here:http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=5400.msg121331#msg121331 See post #27
I know the ECU's were different but I did not know how much.
Old, (but a bit less confused,) Git Ray
PS, sorry to take this thread off track
Hey all! Soon to be new owner here. I've been following along for a while now, and finally pulled the trigger. The good news is...I put a deposit down last night on a left over blue one that has 0 miles. I got the 4 year YES plan and even factoring in the 3% NC tax and $400 round trip cost to get the bike, I'm OTD for just over 13k! Score! I leave to pick it up on Friday the 22nd. It's a 9 hour drive from my house but no biggie. This was easily the the nicest dealer I've ever delt with.
I got it from Miller's Yamaha in Lamont Furnace, PA. I dealt directly with Ernie Miller who is the general manager. Great guy and the whole transacton couldn't have been any easier. I'm so excited! I will post pics once I have it.
Now to start figuring out what farkles and mods to do first...let the fun begin.
With the biggest complaint being nothing to complain about I don't quite get the extended warranty need.
Peace of mind I guess. Great price and you will be amazed on how the color choice can say so much
about the owner around here.
Funny, I've had the same thing happen with Shinkos (705) at ~120.:huh
With stockers though, you're right, dead stable.
So the Yanks finally got a win?
Actually, I guess that depends on how you look at it.
As for taking the thread off track, you mean because you actually posted a Super Tenere post? :)
Thanks for the info sir.
