...this is a tribute.

Zombie Apocalypse Training Camp has it all:

Beer, Booze, Beef, Bikes, Bullets, and Bombs.

The fourth installment of this epic, invite-only ADV weekend happened at an undisclosed location in central Oklahoma.

Much like the heroic men recruited for the Pony Express, a few select individuals were chosen to hone their riding and zombie eradication skills for the eventual day when the undead will roam freely and the living are fugitive. These men were selected above those of lesser character because they possess the raw survival acuity, innate riding abilities, and killer instincts. These men will stand up to the zombie hordes... knowing no fear for their own self-preservation.

Certain details of this extreme training regimen have been declassified and are provided here as a public service to the common man such that he may learn a fraction of the skills needed to survive the zombie apocalypse.

I was glad to see all of the participants of this year's Zombie Apocalypse Training Camp pull through the intense training regimen unscathed, although I can't say the same for all of the training equipment. There was damage, but that is to be expected when man and machine are pushed to their limits.

As the official training footage is assembled and to satiate the masses who are patiently waiting to be gifted knowledge on survival skills, defensive/offensive riding, and zombie eradication... we can release some background details on how this group was assembled and introduce the key players.

This training began in spring 2011 at a secret wilderness compound. The Zombie Apocalypse Training Camp was designed to finely hone the strongest and deadliest among us to lead the revolt against the zombie hordes once the outbreak has reached pandemic.

Certain key past participants of ZATC were on assignment elsewhere receiving supplemental training, therefore some new trainees were recruited. The participants of the fourth training session included the following:

Veterans
Newner - DRZ400E
JumpJet - 400EXC
Krabill - WR250R
Throttlemeister - XR200R
OkieTrailBoss - DRZ400E
Z50StartedIt - WR250R
FrontierCat - TE449
Tomski74 - DR/M650
DirtyDog - KDX220R
Farscape - 520EXCR
Yanush - scoring
Celtazon - scoring
_cy_ - grillmaster

Recruits
NoWheelies - 690R
RedDirtJoe - WR250R
Tim_S - KLR650R

Zombie Apocalypse Training Camp is structured into several specific events to sharpen the trainees' riding and shooting skills. All events are scored and weighted. The trainee with the highest score is adorned with the rank of rebel general.

Training events may have included:
Slowest bike is zombie food (bracket-style drag race)
Fastest bike is zombie food (bracket-style slow race)
Wheelie over the dead (wheelie competition)
Clear the biohazard cesspool (long jump)
Climb the hill of corpses (hill climb)
Gates of hell (trials competition)
Zombie double-tap (shooting + riding)
Apocalyptic duck hunting (trap/skeet shoot)
Deadeye skills shoot (exploding targets)
Rally of the undead (timed obstacle/enduro course)

Strategic planning workshops were held after dusk around the campfire. Specific rations of smoked and burned meats were consumed and thirsts were wetted with numerous blends of performance-enhancing beverages.

I was having too much fun riding, drinking, and looping out to even take a single picture but I can personally attest to electric fence installation with extremely high voltage is good first line defense and perimeter securing guard and yet still crossable by zombie apoclapse moto in the right hands.

Waiting for more of the intense training footage...

^ That spinning target carnage was quite impressive. Solid steel 3/8" thick was no match for our arsenal.:eek1

Here are some pics from my camera.
First night, there were only a few of us at camp.

I invited my brother Tim_S to join us. He's a motorcycle n00b, but he had a good time riding my old KLR.

Saturday morning, we set up the course and various events. The pasture weeds were about knee-high concealing a lot of hazards. I took a spin on the KLR and immediately clipped a tree stump and bent my brake pedal. Nothing a bit of heat and muscle can't fix.

I also cooked some edible things on that stove. Potatoes, onions, eggs, and jalapeno bacon were good.

Once the events were set up and people began riding, it didn't take long before we already had some crashes. Newner looped a wheelie in camp and Throttlemeister did the same on the drag strip/wheelie area. Here is the aftermath. Check the crack.
