Don't know what is worse , some major ass doing this or the even bigger more profound "DICK" that would pay for these. Most likely the same type person that would demand the removal of access for OHV's as they show off their collection of artifacts while sipping overpriced fermented grape juice.

To bad they weren't caught, shot, and scalped
And I'll bet if the cops found their worthless corpses next to the tools they used they would find it as justifiable homicide and close the case right there

    Disgusting POS sub humans :puke1

This is happened right in my backyard. I rode near this area last Saturday. There are several Indian drawing areas that are well marked for the public to visit and others that are not marked to keep this thing from happening. Not that many people go out there so It wouldnt be hard to dammage them. Hopefully they get caught.

Then I guess we didn't do our job, did we.

Honestly, this is no ones fault but the Shitheads who did it and the shittierheads who are/have bought it.

Too bad that the value of these things are in the fact that they could be seen and enjoyed by all. They're worth nothing now. :puke1 Not even the Native Ammericans would want them back post-desecration.

Yeah, report suspicious people with masonry tools in the middle of nowhere. Maybe this thread should be moved to another place where it will get wider attention, or a new thread addressing thievery/vandalism of natural monuments.

It will likely happen again, but maybe not in this area. If some rich criminal from another country is collecting (seems more likely than a domestic collector), he/she will probably be ordering up more goods. Will it be Utah, New Mexico, Colorado? Our country is in transition to another type of government, and we are being harvested during this weak time.

People who ride in areas with pieces small enough to ship should know to keep an eye out. Don't wait until the government asks for our help, because budget shortages will have them hobbled for a few more years at least.

It reminds me of the smash & grabs happening right now in ancient Greece.

I posted the link to the LA Times article over in the Rockies Regional, because they probably have the most artifacts at risk.

Right there with ya Aaron. Not a big fan of LEO either, but It's not the officials in this case that are the problem being that it was a blatant smash and grab of Native American objects. These people have been treated like shit and persecuted long enough. To not see this as a travesty and report it if seen would be as bad as perpetrating the crime.

I think I know what you are implying here. This is just speculation, but the perps could be ready for trouble, so handling the incident alone could be pretty dangerous. If you are Native American, I doubt any jury would come down on you. Anyone else would be risking as much as the criminals are.

Personally, I'd follow those bastards at a distance until I could get an armed LEO on their tail.

(but no, I would not sit idly by and watch them cut on stone from a distance)
