for the non-VA people, that would be US 211 from Sperryville to Luray VA crossing the Shenandoah National Park at the first place south of mile mark 0; which is at Front Royal, VA.

Deals Gap revisited. :nod The powers that be have dropped the speed limit to 45mph. People at Mountainside Market say the locals are tired of hauling sports bikes and body bags off the mountain every weekend.

They are talking about cameras in the trees, if this doesn't work.

Also, on the weekends, the LEO's are stopping all bikes and checking paperwork, registration, license, etc.

so be careful out there boys and girls :nod

the locals were saying it's fine during the week. I always found early Sunday morning is a really good time.

I rolled through with my loud obnoxious supermoto since the crackdown and had no problems.

211/Thornton's Gap is a great place to ride through. It is NOT a good destination. The squids get there and go up/down/up/down pinning it in the straights.

I noticed the change to 45mph Saturday morning but forgot to mention it here; thanks for the update. :thumb

The lack of imagination exhibited by the 211 squids never ceases to amaze me. It's a fun few corners, but it's only a few corners. Go for a ride, you idjuts!

Color me unimpressed with DG. Too short, too far away.

209 better ! Hell, a 450+ mile backroad ride is better.

Gotta differ with you on DG. I just rode it a few weeks ago on my '99 F4. It was the perfect road for that bike. very enjoyable. 209 is defiinitely more technical, but not nearly as smooth.

Thanks for the heads up on thornton gap. I haven't run it in awhile Freak, but usually head up there one weekday a month just to get my fill.

Nothin' much. Steve and harpoon thought it amusing when I ordered a side dish of peaches at lunch in some West Virginia diner. Thenceforth I was "Peaches." Easily amused, those two are. :lol2
