I've been reading most of what's posted here, and one thing I keep seeing is to keep the slack out of the throttle cable.

Well I have about 1/4" of slop at the beginning of the twist. the adjustment at the handle bar is almost falling off, I took the left side panel off and do not see any other adjustment.

Can someone point me in the right direction before I take a day off work to ride 2 1/2 hrs to get a dealer to look at it?

I would imagine that there are adjustments at the throttle boddy`s as well......But I`d be very careful with adjusting those....since you can get`em out of sync. Have you tried to give the dealer a ring????? I live 250 miles from my dealer as well....and they are helpful with the small stuff.....:thumb:thumb

I looked for an adjustment at the cable end.........there appears to be an adjustment screw on the throttle body, but it looks like it would adjust the throttle closed position, and I don't want to mess with that.

I haven't talked to the dealer yet, I thought I'd see if I could get help here first.

Are you saying there is no more adjustment available on the throttle end?

Correct, there is barely 5mm threaded on to the throttle

If you got 5 mm of tread left before the collar comes off, you can still adjust (tighten) it up quite a bit. I bet if you tighten so you got 2.5 mm tread left on the collar, you will be able to take most of the slack out. Move the throttle a little while you adjust the collar out, until there is almost no slack in the throttle. Make sure to turn your handlebars to full lock both sides to make sure the throttle is not sticking at full lock, or rpm increase at full lock.

    Thanks,

I started looking at this when I tried to adjust the slack out it stopped adjusting and I realized I unscrewed it completely and I still had a considerable amount of slack

I am going to call the dealer today and see if I can get any more info from them.

I talked to the dealer today, it looks like the only adjustment is at the handlebar, so I'll probably live with what I can get out of it until I get a chance to visit them
