    4 weeks off...and what now?

First we where thinkinh about to ride 4 weeks to Romania....but after a few thinkings we decided to ride nearly the whole Balkan. Nobody knows if the Balkan will get lost....or he swims away...nobody knows:wink:

In the last winter we started to plan...to read....to change plans...to read more...to change plans again...and 1 day before we started we changed the plan again:rofl

That should be the route :

Germany - Austria - Slowenia - Croatia - Bosnia Herzegowina - Monte Negro - Albania - Mazedonia - Bulgaria - Romania - and back through Hungary and Austria again.

We made plans to camo and so we had to buy some brandnew camping stuff....later more.

Also i bought all necessary maps for the trip...i need to know where exactly iam on this world:lol3....made a update for my TomTom for a lots of money....later more to that:cry

    Lets go.....

We started in Heidelberg, our base, to Austria crossing the alps ( Großglockner mountain) to a city at the Wörthersee lake, Pörtschach.

I have some relatives there and we reached our low budget aim for that day:clap

we made a lots of breakes to have a look and to take some pics....

the Austrians have really good signs along the street, so you know every time in which curve you fly! Applause to the Austrians at this point:clap:lol3

    No traffic....

    up to the top....

and it was worth to ride up to the top....

    Yeah....

    lets have a look downwards...:eek1

after that we headed to the Großglockner himself....

    Here he is....Großglockner mountain himself....

    he melt:eek1

    and now...downwards....

Loiblpass: very nice pass but full of wood at the left and the right side of the road:cry no view....:cry

We took backroads through Slowenia...nice country but nothing special. After a few hours we reached another pass...really cool...in the midlle of a wood...in the middle of nowhere.....damn hot with 35 degrees....we where sweat like hell...and then i saw where i will be in a few minutes:eek1

rrrright...i will jump into the river....parked the motorcycle....put the clothes off....and...puuuh its cold...brrr:lol3....but good!

absolutely clear water with a lot of fishes which nosh on my skin....no joke...they did really....forget the white shark:wink:

after swimming we headed forward...my TomTom said there should be a border we have to cross.....and there was a border but the borderpatrol said we are not allowed to cross...its only for local people! No croatoa for now:ear

But the border patrol was really friendly and explained us the way to the official border we could cross!

here you can see the wrong bordercross

and here is the right one...little difference...huu:evil

    we passed little nice villages....

had to ride over 10km unpaved roads with potholes from each category....

    very beautyfull landscape

Okidoki...somewhere along the way and after a hard ride over the the unpaved road we crossed the border to croatia....:clap

We found a restaurant...ok it was the only one since my experience with the fishes and for the rest of the day till Plitvice....our final point for today.....so we stopped and had a little bit to eat....its for us both:lol3

    Found a nice fotomodel....

After diner i really liked it to lay down somewhere and have a sleep for 2 hours...baaah....but doing nothing is no solution:cry:D

Through woods and over Mountains we reached Plitvice...there we found a place for camp....so we conquered the campplace

it was late at evening....40 degrees...Plitvice has to wait till tomorrow!

The good thing is we had a lot of plumtrees around our tent...that means a lot of vitamines for the rest of the day:D

Dont believe the pics....in the morningtime it was nearly empty there....at afternoon you have seen only people and the national park between the people.

You have to walk on wooded bridges trough the park...that means we had some km to walk that day...and it was horrible hot:huh

    I present.....Plitvice National Park

after they left i had to talk eye to eye with my sozia

I: "do you want to use the tent once again in this horrible heat?"
sozia: "not really...the roomprices are very low!"
I : "at the next post station we sent the tent and all back home we dont need anymore!"
    sozia: "damn good idea!":lol3

Awesome ride report! I haven't been to Dubrovnik since 1985 so it's really great to see it thriving again. It was one of my favorite places in the world. Keep the pictures and report coming!

Some words to Albania..... the whole country has a wonderfull nature and one of the beautyfulliest landscape we have seen. The sad thing is that our pictures are not representing what we have really seen there in this country.

The whole country is full of waste and it stinks everywhere....on every corner...on every street....The cars blowed out their black axhaust emissions!

A horrible und unbelievable environmental pollution!

Sometimes we where really speechless...sometimes we where really sad about that!:cry

Thats a very very sad thing for Albania and for the tourists which are coming to see Albania:cry and travel through this country.

After leaving the big cities you will find a landscape and a nature you can not pay for it!

The street from the border to Shkoder...30km of destroyed street....broken rocks and stones...full of every kind of potholes....dust....mud...and i dont know what else:evil we needed 2 hours :clap

God must had a good day when he made this

Sometimes you have days while you ride you will not arrive ...you will only ride...ride...ride.

But if you have a destination...you will arrive sometimes....but it was ok because we had so much hunger at evening!

Ok...we are in Koman now...a little village with nothing....but there was a sign with "hotel" on it.....thats good for the beginning:lol3

A little smalltalk with the owner....he had a room for us and he gave me a cold beer for welcome....i liked him very mucho:freaky
    [IMG]

no luxux...but the room was good.
    But damn...no food here :huh

There was a bar with restaurant some meters away on a bridge....so lets have a walk...dont want to ride anymore for today!

We arrived the bar...very small place...2 tables outside...5 inside...on a very nice and idyllic river...not so bad if you think about that this village exists only from a hotel and a bar :D

here i could find the most important thing tonight

we had a wonderfull diner at this place...bbq at its best!!

after diner and some beers we wandered back to our hotel...good night for today...lets see what the next day will bringl

That cemetery for burned cars is actually Police compound for cars that were seized in arrests and cars which were taken for customs check. Some of those cars were even on Interpol lists of stolen cars. Then one day at 42 C..somebody was smoking........10 hours later.....700 cars were burned......
