Oops. Title was a little confusing. Same seller has a 100/90-16. Might want to email them.

Well due to the overwhelming response to this thread, I'll continue :rofl

The photos above are actually when my friend picked it up, here's the story.....

Her last bike was an XS650 ...

It was a fun build, but a bit too big for her and neither of us really "connected" with it. :dunno Before that she rode an SR500 which she loved dearly, we both did..... never should of sold it :cry

She wanted another bike so I had narrowed it down to a few models... GS500, EX250, etc. I figure they are kinda cheap and somewhat plentiful and SV650's/EX500 were a bit too large and usually out of my price range.

The bike that I .... I mean we really wanted though was the SRX250, hey I'm a Yamaha fan, especially their 80's - 90's sport bikes, and the 250 would look pretty cool parked next to my 600 :D:norton

After several months of scanning local CL ads I came across only 1 SRX and it had no carbs and no title <!--emo&<_<-->[IMG]<!--endemo--> so I decide to broaden my search and I found one in Indy...hey! I know someone in Indy! Hmmmmmmm....

The ad was a week old but they still had it and after a few days and many, many emails and pics, a deal was struck and my friend picked it up :clap

He delivered it to Minnesota late December, here I am finally seeing it in person for the first time....

    Yep, it's a small bike :lol3

It seemed pretty happy in it's new surroundings though, and the 600 has already assumed a big brother role

Here's the important thing though..... she fits!!! She loves it! She can touch damn near flat footed!!! :clap

I've done a lot of work on it since then, more on that later.... :slurp

Thanks, I checked DK and pretty much everywhere else. I did find a 90/90 in Taiwan but I have to buy a container load :rolleyes :lol3

There's a 100/90 on it now and it leaves very little clearance between tire and fender....that and it slows down the handling a bit and just looks wrong IMO.

I've always loved the little SRX250, if I was a bit smaller I'd love to have one to putter around on.

    Cool bike, congrats and enjoy.

Well it's been a while, but there's been some progress.......

The seller had been honest and sent detailed pics when I requested them, unfortunatly it's nothing like seeing it in person. What I assumed was chain lube in the pics turned out to be corrosion....apparently the bike was run without the battery breather tube hooked up.

more rust at the headtube, this is visible when riding....not cool :puke1

So the decision was made to strip it down and have the frame and swingarm powder coated. While I was at it I decided to hack off some unused brackets

this one is for the CA evap canister........

I also removed the helmet lock and passenger peg brackets......

of course I had to check the weight savings afterwards :D

There were many more wonderful discoveries along the way....

The bike was ingesting it's rotted air filter :huh

carb boots had come apart. I searched ebay for months but eventually broke down and bought new ones.....NOT cheap! :cry

Eventually the motor was liberated from the frame, it's a big heavy pig for a 250 by today's standards

    what a mess! :puke1

A SRX250 was the second bike I owned! It was a great bike. Traded it on a R100GS when they came out.

Do you think we could see a little more of your young lady than just her left knee? Or is she shy?

This view should always be taken with feet on pegs.

It's probably safe to cut off the brackets the passenger pegs bolt to. :D
