Another place to camp is the Beverly Sand dunes - riding the dunes at night is fun. You can camp at the dunes or, the other side of the dirt road has areas too near the lakes. I grew up fishing those lakes and riding the dunes. If you like fishing, don't overlook that place in the spring. It used to be Lahontan Cutthroats and Browns in the lakes, but now they made a freak hybrid trout by crossing a Brown trout with a Brook trout and thy're fatties. They call them Tiger Trout. So @TigerTanker is sort of obligated to catch one in 2018 :lol3

Are you sure that "hybrid" that you're EATING....
... isn't just a "mutation" from Hanford Reach?

:lol3 I guess that would explain the third testicle I developed... That hybrid species rarely happens in nature, but it's a way for the biologists to make a non-breeding stock. Sort of like a donkey and a horse making a mule I suppose. Once they mate, the offspring is sterile. I kind of wish that would happen with certain humans come to think of it :hmmmmm

Yeah the videos all look like something I would have done twenty years ago- now I just see myself lying next to my bike holding my knee and crying like a little girl.

Yes, in fact it is a great place for beginner and intermediate riders. Or a person with a bigger bike.

There are “challenges” for skill testing and fun, along with some pretty technical rocky canyons. But a person can bail out pretty easy on stuff if it becomes too much.

Sand riding is about 1/3 or so if the riding out there. Riding sand has a learning curve. Takes a couple days and patience to learn. But once you figure it out it’s really fun.

Sand requires low psi and a good tire. Otherwise u ain’t going far. A very skilled rider can do 15 psi with a great knobby. But I take tubliss to zero-5psi and that works very well.

Sand gets wind swept and creates sand cliffs and drops that can kill you!

Always scout your ride area before going over a sand ridge with speed.

I got sand mostly figgerd out....Gas ON!

It's those trials-rider type steep hills/cliffs that'd be a new thing for me.

If you guys are on bigger bikes or like gravel travel, going in from the town of Mattawa is good. Take a left on "R" road. It'll fork and stay left. That's your gateway to the top of those mountains and majestic views. Fun dual sporting up there You'll see a lot of double and single track shooting off in all directions if you feel like you need more challenges.

Cameras will never do those hills justice. Some of them you look up and almost get vertigo. You think no F$%*ing way. But with good technique you can make them. The best part is it's relatively safe and a hell of a lot of fun to challenge yourself there. Thanks for the vids Tiger! Hope your leak is a simple fix.

Sand worked it’s way into clutch slave creating a gap that made a bad leak. Culprit was an improperly seated bolt. Cleaned and fixed.

Sand is nasty on bike. Good reminder that any ride at Mattawa should later include cleaning air filter. Mine was nasty. A multi day trip should include filter skins.
