I sucks wondering if you'll get healthy in time. I got sick last week, then my band had to play in front of about 5,000 people last weekend. I'm the singer. Didn't know if I'd be able to sing until I was onstage trying. Halfway into the first song and it was apparent that I couldn't do it. A big "oh shit, what now!" moment! I was terrible. Anyway, hope you feel better!

Did you finish the gig? That's my worst nightmare but I'm hoping I'll be OK.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Yes. A lot of our songs are challenging stuff like Journey, but we know about 100 songs and only had to play for 1.5 hours so I just started calling out the easiest songs to sing. Still sounded terrible but the crowd could tell I was sick, and we had good energy so they were forgiving.

Shake it off Carol! Shake it off. :sick :nah

I'm just getting over a 2 month bout (hadn't ridden since the eclipse! ....... and I normally would have put on 8K-12K in that time period as it's my favorite time of the year to ride/camp) of something nasty. Got treated for 3 different things, and didn't respond well to any of them? Finally after 6 1/2 weeks a specialist determined that I have a fungal infection of the throat/bronchial tubes.

You've got to stay after the medical workers. Most are just going to do what they always do. "Here take this and call me if you aren't better in a week." After 4 weeks of that nonsense I ended up in the hospital. Wish I would have been more proactive in their decisions. It's a damn dance it seems between helping them help you, and being TOO involved. Nobody knows your body and symptoms better than YOU. On the plus side I've lost about 20 lbs.

Hope you're feeling much better and back in "construction shape" soon.

We don't have it where I live, but I've been known to ride 2 hours for a bowl of this goodness.

    And a Vietnamese coffee. :tb

Vietnamese coffee is the best, period. Especially while sitting on little plastic chairs.

Or some Jewish penicillin? I read once that the reason Chicken Noodle Soup actually works is because the pepper causes some secretion in your throat that helps, or something like that.

Or maybe because you're breathing steam, or because you're taking in more liquids, or or or . . . .

Personally, I'd rather have the Hot & Sour.:deal

I like pho, but I put in so much Hoisin sauce and Sriracha that I probably kill all the health benefits. Hoisin seems to be a combination of equal parts sweet, salt and brown. I'm addicted. The Sriracha helps but probably isn't enough to kill the bad effects of the amount of Hoisin I use.:shog
