Ok, so man, here it is...time to hit the road. I leave on Tuesday April 10th!

I'm leaving Tacoma and headed for Mojave California for hallowed ground at The Snake Pit. Might hit Mammoth or Tahoe for a ski day on the way.

After Snake Pit it will be Baja for a week, Palm Desert, Lake Havasu, Sedona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and then Idaho.

I'm traveling alone, but joining "The Terminators" for Baja, and riding with the Donkey People in Snake Pit, and a variety of other Inmates and Thumpers as I make my way around the West.

I recall joining ADV Rider a few years back, the idea of an Epic adventure was beyond my imagination. And here I am headed out for 5-6 weeks!

For anyone not familiar with me, or last year's trip, I've made a Recap of last year's epic adventure in this video. I have a youtube channel with many of last year's rides on it. Video work is my hobby within the hobby.

So, this year, the Truck has been seriously upgraded....looks like this now....

    IMG_3505.JPG

Like last year, I'll be staying in cheap motel rooms. But, no 2 star places....draw the line at 3. The hassles and all of a 2 star hotel, may as well just sleep in the truck and save the grief and money. I learned a bunch about my bikes since last year's trip, and they are much better prepared for the ride areas this time.

I injured myself pretty bad on the 5th day of last year's trip in rupturing my achilles. I let it naturally heal itself since then, and my recovery has been pretty good. I'm at least 80-90% with my feet now and should be able to ride anything.

I plan on taking more photography during this trip. I have my iPhone 7plus, but also a nice Olympus OMD camera with an optional telephoto lens....this year some more in the way of action photos.

Last year, surprisingly, I felt rushed. So, that is the reason for 6 weeks instead of 3-4. You never know if you'll ever get the chance to travel like this again, so I'm going to try to get the most out of it.

While my Baja trip is a "organized and planned ride" by The Terminators, the rest of the journey is going to be as spontaneous as possible. Too much planning and all ruins an adventure in my opinion.....just let it happen...

I have a very carefully planned packing list for the trip, based upon my riding experience and last year's trip. My truck now has much more room than last year for my gear. Last year was cramped... But the new rack will really help, and instead of putting two bikes in the back side by side, plan on using a hitch mounted versa hauler. That way the bed holds a ton more stuff.

I own my own business and have a couple reliable people in my office to cover for me during my vacation/adventure. Last year things went very smooth.... but I deal in Finance and right now things are jumpy. Well, in a world full of laptops, phones, uploading and pdf files.... it's pretty easy to stay on top of things while exploring the world. The credit card is at zero and the whole family is used to this kind of thing.... I ride dirt about 100-130 days per year.

I'm down here in San Diego now. Just peering over the boarder at Baja to see what awaits us!

@TigerTanker, I hope you have a great adventure. Be sure when you set off on Tuesday, do so with an Amon Amarth song cranking. Prepare the longship!

Garage work. Also found a great new mounting spot on 450 for GoPro. The ims tank makes the shrouds stick out a bit. Gives a nice protected opening.

And big thanks to HDB Hand Guards! Big supporter of TigerTanker and the Terminators!

Just added a mirror for Baja and put on some clean ears. The toughest hand guards built, period. Made in the USA!

They charge with either the USB or cigarette charger that's in the box. The charge depends on use but 4 to 6 hrs. They charge extremely quickly and I plan on charging off the bike at or around lunch.

Ok, testing the senna 30. Holy cow! Amazing sound! The best headphones ever, even miles better than my bose.

Will really add to the riding enjoyment on long rides.

Incredibly easy to use. One button connection to Siri is really awesome.
