March - April - and even May are just around the corner.
April 27th wekend has my vote.
28th is the Meltdown.
Blue Ridge MC Campground.
Should we do it on the same weekend with the Tiger Ride In?
Yeah, I saw that. There's around 30 of them, not really a deal breaker for me. I really like heading to the Meltdown, and Lisa has already scheduled for that weekend off from work.. So we'll be there... Along with @ducmays and @Jake Mountain. Hoping this shakes out.
Ok by me, Cabins may be in short supply.
Now that the conversation is rolling, I'm guessing it'll be Cruso? I have gotten rid of all my excess tents except my favorite - a 1970 ish Hillary. Pretty sure I can have a bike running by April. If not, there's parking out by the highway. And I may even be able to get away again.
Follow the link @Al Tuna provided, it appears that all of the cabins are booked.
What are alternative campsites near Cruso?
Edit- Called BRMC, left a message for Phil or Jay to either call me about cabins or to look up this thread and chime in.
I'm going to give it a pass this year. As much as I have enjoyed hanging with y'all and hitting the meltdown, time for something close to home.
Hopefully see y'all at Rick's Rendezvous.
In the past they didn't accept cabin reservations until March 1st. Apparently that is no longer the case. Oh well, Merlefest is that weekend anyway.
What is that campground in Bryson City @Laconic knows about?
With this talk of other campgrounds, is it likely BRMC may run out of tent spaces?
This bunch is spoiled to cabins and on site food.
I kind of resemble that remark. But will gladly stay in a tent to be there for the food.
I'm thinking we have a "Right place, wrong time" "Right time, wrong place" kerfuffle.
Well, I'll be there that weekend, willing to try a different venue though.
There HAS to be a nice campground with cabins and food nearby..
I've never tried the cabins. We could van/car camp there. Miss Janet is done with Motorcycle tent camping.
Cheap motel in Maggie Valley works for me. Travelowes is big enough for a rally.
Well, looking up the campground I was thinking in Hot Springs reminded me it looks kinda 'V-twin friendly' and the dirt turns to mud real quick.
Still waiting for a call back from Phil/Jay.
Here ya go http://rockcreekcampgroundnc.homestead.com/index.html We may starve to death.
