I had the 2 wd version(MT-16)for about 10 years.Bought it new in Ga. from a guy that bought them from the local Harley dealer.Story was that the Harley dealer bought 2 containers(about 20 units)to sell in his store.Harley got wind of this and said "no way"if you want to continue to be a Harley dealer. He chose to stay with H-D.Supposedly they sat in the containers for almost 20 years.New tires, tubes and rubber bits and I rode it around for almost 10 years.Fun,but they need constant attention.I sold it for more than I bought it for.:clapThat was because I imported a Chinese CJ-750.......................some people never learn!!:eek1

That Dnepr was a freakin steal, given they don't hold their value quite as well as Urals, but still, sub-$1k? Dirt cheap.

I think that bike is worth that without all the wolf man stuff. I would keep all that and either use it for the next bike or sell it separate.

1984: The world didn't end, and Big Brother didn't take over. We had Ronald Reagan, New Wave music, and (woohoo!) orange parachute pants.

Computer modeled engineering was yielding design improvements in all elements of motorcycling: tires, frames, suspensions, aerodynamics, combustion chamber flow, etc. And we started to see bikes that worked in all elements - that is when the engineers occasionally got design control away from the marketing and accounting departments.

    Take, for example, this:

Damn... if I hadn't dumped so much into my 990 this season, I'd seriously consider this bike. I think I need a lighter bike to learn what the hell I'm doing off-road :D

I do believe Cruise rode an '84 GPz900R much like that one whenever he had the need

The need for speed that is.
