Here's a photo of the "tractor operator's manual storage tubes" strapped to the Happy Trails PD Nerf Bars on my '03 KLR 650. In keeping with my philosophy of "more = mo' better", I was able to strap not one, but FOUR of those tubes on, using stainless hose straps, two port and two starboard. I'm keeping the weight low, and have the following items stowed in the tubes: Tube 1: Chain Lube; Tube 2: Tool Kit; Tube 3: Tie Wraps, Security Cable & Lock; Tube 4: Fire Extinguisher.

I put mine on the support for the TT cans. Dont know it that helps or not considering you may or may not have them. I heated the tabs up with a heat gun and bent them to the same angle as the support bar and used some insulated clamps to fasten it on.

1700 miles and no sign of comin off :clap

Here's two tubes mounted on a 650 Givi rack. You have to wiggle the lids a little to get them out, ant the lower one barely rubs the chainguard under full suspension compression, but not enough to push the guard into the chain.

Got my Scud Missle launchers mounted last night. I think they look great and mounted this way the contents should stay dry unless I dump it in the creek. :lol3

I don't know what you guys used to get he yellow paint off but I didn't have any luck. It just laughed at finger nail polish remover and paint thinner. I had some Krylon plastic paint left so I just hit them with that.

One quick spray of Berryman Carb/choke cleaner took off the yellow graphics on my tube in about 10 seconds.

Brake cleaner took the yellow off in about...oh....5 seconds.

I was kinda shocked at how easy it took it off :huh

Finally fixed mine to the bike.

I used a U bolt at the front and wanted to do that same at the back but there just isn't any room between the tab and the lid so I used some mounting brackets I found at Ace.

I carry my MSR bottle in the side bag and it's an odd size that takes away from usable space.

    Thanks for the idea..

Mine are Brunton 1.0L/33.8oz bottles and it's as if the tubes were made for them - they are not quite as long as the tube but I plan on just adding a bit of packing/rags at the bottom and top to cushion the bottles.
