Well, here I am in Northeast Ohio, bike is loaded. My gear is loaded. I have to wait until my wife gets off work tomorrow! No matter how fast I drive I won't get there yesterday.

My brother and I are still going to ride over to Cedar Key later this week. I hope all you guys had a great time. Looking forward to the pictures.

Thanks for the awesome weekend. Special props to Ronnie for not holding my head under water for holding us up for an hour. By some good fortune, my GoPro was running when I found the abyss. So in full 1080p HD, you can watch it "go down". Fortunately the audio isn't as high res--not family friendly. The file is huge so once I figure out how to snip it I'll get it posted.

Not to worry, part of the adventure:thumb. We were gung-ho getting off that ferry. The first couple water crossing were easy enough. The water hole you hit was in a blind corner and you were unlucky with the line, but we jumped in the 'nice and clean' Ocala water(up to our waist) and dug* it out:clap. We were wet but hit even more water getting through the forest. In the end we got the Suzuki out and it started up, we didn't have to leave and ride two up to get your truck...like some of the others:D.

On the route back though, you could see both of us avoid even the slightest water puddle.

And lol:rofl at Mark who rolled up as we pulled the zuk out, to say, "i think you were suppose to go straight".

P.S Chris i hope I didn't ruin your story if you were going to follow up(looking forward for the vid)

Sorry if there was a hiccup in the instructions (you weren't the only ones) but yeah it was straight. We wouldn't do that to ya on purpose. :evil

I'd like to hear how you really got it out of there! :D

Fun times with wankers, wankettes, grandmas, FFs, hooligans, and plateless KTMs. Have a ton of photos, but...too lazy to upload em all. So, here's the ferry photo.

Big thanks to CADs for putting it on. Mike for the roll charts, Bill and crew for the doing the dirty work, and SFront/FIL/DRZ for navigating our way to the Key and back. Heard some of our food might still be waiting :deal

    See ya guys next year!

lol, no worries Bill. Both routes were great. I couldn't imagine the amount of effort and time that went into those routes, huge undertaking. Entire event was top notch.

Sorry we missed y'all at supper last night. Matt & I rolled in just as BG was finishing loading his bike.

In spite of the mechanical trouble, we had a great time this weekend. A fine job was done by all. :thumb

This was my first advrider event in a long time and I had a great time. Rode with the group of 7 coming back from CK Sunday morning. I was on a borrowed DR350 and enjoyed the sights and sounds of rural Florida. I used to live in Levy Co. and still found places I'd missed before. All I need now is my own dual sport motorcycle. I've got a supermoto, maybe I'll just check on SM tires or dual sport. Hopefully something good in 17" will work.

We were hoping you were going to join us for the trip to Cedar Key. I thought if I stayed behind you, you would think you were one of us. Plan to join us next year.

Sorry for the fingers, but that is why most of my pictures are no good. :1drink

I had a great time too! Big thanks to Ronnie for bailing me out before we even started - I ran out of gas a couple miles from the start. I only had 100 miles on a 4 gallon tank! :eek1. But no issues the rest of the time.

It was great to see people I knew and meet some new people. Really nice that some folks came from far away. Wow!

We really have a beautiful state here. I totally enjoyed the routes and seeing it again. I miss that rural life.

Well, can't wait until we can do it again! :clap

Thanks to all who put the event together. Great job!

So I've reviewed my roll chart. Still not sure where I screwed up. I must have been in the wrong place. I took a right (not a bear right) at the power lines. I don't see anything but a slight left ahead. But that's all besides the point. Good news is, unknowingly, the video camera was running.

The video demonstrates a series of bad decisions on my part. I expected some muddy grass. Tried to stay to the left but lost my line. The front wheel wound up cemented in mud above the axle. Water was to the bottom of the headlight but due to the steep angle, the air box stayed dry.

Unfortunately, I set my helmet/camera down and missed the heroic recovery.

After what seems to have been about an hour, we got it out by running ratchet straps as high as possible to a nearby tree. With that constant upward tension and using tire irons to dig around the wheel, we each grabbed handle bar and had a synchronized seizure that pulled it out. After draining a little water from the carb it was good to go.:clap

    Memorable to say the least!

Holy crap that is funny. Your front tire went right into the hole that Thad's big nine-fiddy dug out. Thats unfortunate that you were behind us, otherwise the DRZ would probably have been fine. I think the roll chart was confusing at this place, but this made the day interesting. Thats why they call it adventure riding :clap
