Due to the massive rain storm that will dump 2.5" of rain,... the MCI team has decided to Post-Pone the event to a later date that will be announced soon.

We did maybe 100 mi yesterday, starting at Jackson going South and then back North. Buddy ingested water 2 miles from the start, on the first water crossing south of Jackson. Other than the hour spent draining the bike's top end, etc, it was a great day of riding!

Thanks again to the route-builder Rob23!!!

Not locked into that weekend..so no worries. We'll try to meet up and discuss plans, etc, before we get a weekend worked out.

Doug, I've read and enjoyed a couple of your RR's over the last couple of years, ride (and ski) up in the Catskills, rode and camped along Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway, and have a love (though an admittedly underdeveloped sklill-set) for photography, plus want to ride the full TNJT --- I think that you and I might be able to find one or two things to talk about... I live up here in north Jersey and have ridden MANY of the TNJT backroads up this way but still want to ride the whole thing, in sequence, to take it all in.

Anyway, I've been thinking about doing the top half down to the Jackson area one weekend and bailing and then doing the southern section a week or two or three later. I'd love to try to coordinate something with you for the southern half. Since you're not set in stone on the 28th-29th yet I thought I'd throw it out there that I have my two kids every other weekend (Yup, one of those divorced Dads...) and those dates fall on my weekend with them. And with the "every other weekend" schedule, obviously two weeks before, two weeks, and four weeks after, etc. etc. etc.

So do your thing, schedule whenever it works for you, but in the off chance that you can do it on one of my "free" weekends (i.e. June 21-22, July 5-6, July 19-20, etc.), keep me in mind and feel free to PM me with any thoughts, questions, etc.

    Brendan

Looking to do the whole trail. No set date, I have a very flexible schedule that is not consistent. Don't want to do it solo, going to ride my KTM 250 xcfw. If yr looking to ride it give shout out. Maybe camp maybe hotel, either way it would be fun.

I really want to do his but I'm still rolling around on the Tiger's stock Scorpion tires. Are these gonna get it done, or is that just stupid? Also, I've ridden for many years, but never off-road like this. Am I a fool to do this alone? Before everyone gets all up in arms about that, I know it's probably the dumbest thing you've read today. Below is sample of my tread for those unaware of what my tires look like.

    Thanks in advance...

The southern half of the trail isn't gonna be easy in the sand with those. The I did the northern bit on the same tires. I wouldn't do it with out 50/50s

shinko 244 3k on them and the front shows no wear, the rear is almost toast. But they are cheap and I ran them in sugar sand with out issue.

Dude, cheap in an understatement! Do they serve you well on the street too? I ride in NYC traffic an average of 10-20 miles everyday in addition to longer weekend rides. 3k miles doesn't take long.

    Thanks again.

Did sections 100-102 today as a day trip out of Brooklyn. Great ride!

Henderson Rd was AWESOME!!! Mud, rocks, plenty of dirt to BRAAAAAP on. It looked there was a lot of unmarked spur roads out there too to explore.

Split Rock Rd in section 100 has a bridge out - I couldn't find a suitable re-reroute and slabbed that section.

Is Henderson rd legal? There are lots of signs going the other way, starting on paradise?

I thought the same thing - but there are other roads in the area that are VERY clearly marked illegal.

In other news, it looks like the NWCDC is shutting down. The area is going to be run by the City of Newark directly, I guess.

EDIT: Now that I actually look at the waypoints, it looks like the TNJT has marked that section (henderson rd) private. So it is illegal! Whoops! Ride at your own peril!
