Its way to fun not to ride
Paradise Rd is the bestest....definitely.
I have posted our ride report on ride south of the Pines.
Anybody interested in riding the northern sections this coming Sunday?
Looking forward to do it on my Ural with my daughter
Me and a buddy are both new to dual sporting, but we're looking to ride some of this trail once the weather breaks (we're thinking sometime in April). Possibly do a weekend of it with some camping as well, but we'll see what happens. If anyone else wants to hit some of the trail with us, I'm sure we could use some more riding partners. We'd probably start somewhere near the pines and work our way down to Cape May.
whos up for this?
See my signature for my trip RR. It was a fun time, and one of those things you are happy to say you did it. Nothing like the TAT that people take on...but its a good fun weekend killer.
Now, with two kids and no time, not sure when I'll get to do it again. Buddy at work mentioned doing it this year, but not sure if time will allow. I am dying to use all my new camping gear though.
I need to figure out how to set this up for use on my phone
You and me both
Convert the gpx to kml and upload to "mymaps" on google maps.
Tried section 118 backwards yesterday and it was impassable due to downed trees. Ended up going forwards and got from Atsion to Batsto without incident.(without incident doesn't take into account the sugar sand)
Looking forward to running some more sections.
For Android you can also use GPX viewer. it loads gpx, kml and kmz files
I did this over the weekend
Beautiful up there
Thanks for whom ever contributed to this
I will need to look for a gps unit in near future
And might try the central part this weekend
Anyone know if there is parking at the start of the trail? Might trailer my bike to start. What is the best return route to the trail head? Riding a 500 so Garden State kinda sucks.
If the start is in high point then you could probably park at the park office
"Check with office first"
If not there is a hiking parking lot just down the road
And people leave there cars there overnight
If your looking for a north south road to ride home 206 might be an option
Brutal, need your help. Want to do a section of the TransNJ from Assunpink Lake down to Wharton. Do you have that GPS section?
Also, you are welcome to join us. We are meeting at 9:00 a.m. at the Assunpink parking lot on Saturday, 8/1 and heading South.
Im here now
But when i get home tonight i will send u what i have
Funny thing i will be down in wharton camping and kayaking at godfrey bridge campground fri-sunday
All are welcome
Thanks! Want to do a little ride Sunday morning, before you pack up and leave? We could meet at Lucille's for breakfast. I'm gonna be on LBI starting Saturday afternoon. I'lll p.m. you my cell number.
I ran TNJT116_Hero5_LostLaneLoop and while I did complete it.... it was the most difficult trail I've ever ridden. It didn't help that I was on a heavy KLR and the sand was deeper than beach sand. I dumped the bike probably 6 or 7 times. No damage at all, but I'm now assuming that "Hero" Means that you are one if you can complete it. I made it almost the entire way around but ended up back on chattsworth due to some closed gates towards the finish line. Is the rest of the southern TNJT tracks as bad as this one? I'd really like to go back and finish the other tracks but I want to make a day trip out of wharton to cape may. 45 miles took me all day and I was wiped at the end of it. I road past lucilles and regret not stopping in for a bite. It smelled soooooooo good.
