    Great report Sage!

The PET and TransConRR are two of my favorite rides. I guess being sort of a history geek makes me enjoy them even more. I watched your youtube video when you first posted it. I just didn't realize it was PurpleSage on ADV posting it.

I have certianly enjoyed your report. It has given me some insight into the vastness of the west. I have been wanting to ride there, and thanks to your report it has moved up on the "TO DO" list.
Also makes me realize that I should ride with someone with knowledge of the area instead of just "jumping in".
If you decide to do another ride PM me and lets see if I can make it.
    Thanks again Sage, well done!!:clap

Excellent ride and report, thanks for the memories. Three friends and I took the same route in reverse in mid-September. We were about 1 hour behind a rainstorm and hit some impassable mud just before we got to Kelton. We backtracked a bit and took Board Ranch road up to Park Valley then over to Golden Spike. It's a great ride.

Thanks. Read this all last night. Enjoyed every photo and all the text. I'm going to check out a few of your other Utah ride reports also. Let me know if you ever ride the St. George area. Thanks again.

I popped out to work here to use the internet connection here. The second page loads ok but the first still gives me the red x dealie at about 3/4ths down your report.

    Still enjoyed it though....:D

Both the Pony Express and Trans Con RR routes are described and layed out perfectly in Tony Huegels Utah Byways offroad book.
This guy knows his stuff when it comes to adventure routing. :thumb

Wow. Great report. I live north of all that & have wanted to ride the area . Where did you get that map of the railroad route shown on P 1 ??? Are there maps for the other loops? Maps for the Pony Express route? Be a HUGE help. Next year I'm doing it. THANKS! Love this report.

At under $200 not much of an investment for all the information it records. GoPro is just a fluff toy.

See Mex2Can.com for another ride of a life time.
