I was looking at the TrekNow site and in the description it says, "The user can print out Roll Charts and Route Sheets for each route." Well, I bought the disc and now I'm wondering how to print out roll charts. I can't even create roll charts. How do?

But since I'm sometimes good for a guess, my guess it that it is a text file, or word document on the disc.

For what they are charging for those, I'd certainly be requesting some customer support.

It says right on their website they don't support roll charts anymore:
    http://www.treknow.com/idaho/

Note: With the release of Version 5.0 and above we are no longer providing an windows menu driven interface. Garmin has decided to discontinue the MapSource software product and its replacement BaseCamp (which is free for Mac and Windows) does not allow a similar programmic interface. We no longer support the printing of roll charts and route sheets. Not having to install software on your computer greatly simplifies the installation of this product. All you need to do is copy the appropriate files from the CD to your hard drive and use your software of choice to examine them and transfer them to your GPS.

I purchased the OBCDR (Oregon) and it doesn't say that.

Don't know anything about this but I was looking at a new site yesterday, Rally Navigator. For those that use Roll Charts this might be an interesting site. Although, it would appear that at some point there will be a Fee and I can't tell if you can keep your data private (not shared).

    Cheers,

RenoMoto based it on my process, which is heavily Google Earth oriented. It's not at all an automiactic thing to import a track, and out comes a roadbook. You have to mark every point where you want an entry in the roadbook, and you have to select or draw each tulip drawing, one at a time, and type the text in yourself for what to do at each of those points. It's for creating rally racing roadbooks, like a Dakar Rally roadbook. I think the TrekNow tool was more something like Google Maps, where it comes up with the text and tulip automatically for you.

Rally Navigator only does 6" wide roadbooks.
It does not do narrow "roll chart" format.
It does have a "private" option.
    The basic tool is free.
Future enhanced features will be available for a price.

Thanks. The width won't work with my roll chart holder. I emailed TrekNow, so hopefully I'll get a response I can work with.

Rally Navigator now supports narrow roll chart (dual sport) format. If you haven't tried it, take a look. It makes roll chart creation super easy!

I love playing around with Rally Navigator. I've gotten a great route lined up and am at the point I want to print and ride to confirm the mileages. Unfortunately it won't print, wide, narrow, page, etc. :cry Very cool program though, otherwise.

It was my bad. I wasn't using Firefox. Tried it in Firefox and it worked immediately and perfectly.
